FTL & MIA

Hello to everyone this is my first post and I hope that I am presenting it in the correct place.

I am somewhat of a shy gay guy (until you get to know me and me you) and will be having some vac time coming the first week in August. I will need to spend it in Fla., but am asking for any advice about Ft. Lauderdale or Miami accommodations that you might have.

I'm looking for modern accommodations, nothing dated, and in an area where they might be gay activities with-in walking distance or short drive or taxi. I love the beach but to my knowledge most gay activity is more off beach than on?

Plus any hot escort suggestions for smooth, muscular, verbal jock-types (20-26) (tats a plus) would be greatly appreciated and received as well. ^_^

Thanks!

On the beach, there are several new or newly renovated properties. The newest properties are the Ritz Carlton, The Atlantic, Hilton FTL Beach and The W. The W is the most modern of these properites and is my personal favorite. The newly renovated is Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach. Each of these properties is within a few blocks of the gay section of the beach at Sebastian St.

Easy taxi ride or drive to the gay night spots.

A few miles north is Il Lugano another newer property. It's directly on the intracoastal near the intersection of A1A and Oakland Park Boulevard. Dudes Bar is a few hundered feet away and shares the same municipal parking lot with Il Lugano. I haven't been to Dudes in several years but it's always been hit or miss, although I have always preferred it to Boardwalk.

I can't think of any other hotels that might be within walking distance to the night spots, but then again I'm not much of a club person. But they should all be within easy taxi ride or drive.

I can't provide personal recommendations for escorts, as I haven't met anyone that meets the criteria you provided.

Good luck and have fun.

For this coming weekend,we got the "W" hotel for $170./nt. I havent' stayed at the "B" but stayed at the one in Barcelona and it reminded me of the W's, in the design/layout. Nice hotel.

I always rent a car when in FLL/MIA because we go between the two cities, visiting Twist and Score in now Johnny's in Miami and Johnny's, Boardwalk, Dudes in FLL. Also Georgies Alibi in Wilton Manors is a good gay bar to hang at before heading out the strip clubs. I prefer staying in FLL to Miami, easier imho to get around than Miami.

Hey Scorpio,Tomcal & Expat thanks for taking the time to respond. Great recommendations and I am looking into them all for their individual pros & cons. I'll let you know where I end up. I wish it wasn't Florida this time - But I'm a lemonade kind of guy! :P

Thanks again!

Have you considered a Gay B&B? 15 FTL was formerly known as the New Zealand House and was run by a lovely couple that was very dedicated to it for about ten years. I'm not sure if the recent name change signifies new ownership. However, it always had an interesting roster of guests, a really nice pool, comfy rooms and it was always a very good time.
