Guest Hoover42 Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Well, I hear a 10-mile stretch of the 405 freeway in LA is shut down for the weekend. Carmageddon Photos From the LA Times: http://framework.latimes.com/2011/07/15/carmageddon-los-angeles-405-closure/ Any board members experiencing that first-hand? Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Everyone is appearing to stay home today. There have been no traffic issues at all . . . yet. And I hear that they are ahead of schedule so it shouldn't go past 6AM Monday morning. Quote
Guest gcursor Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 As I have said before, I believe that any people in the LA area should go down to the construction site and bring some cold drinks/food/ and lots of dollar bills for the sweaty construction workers!!! Gcursor Quote

Gcursor That would be fun! But it would probably distract them too much from their job The construction company gets hit with a fine of of $600 a minute for every minute they miss their deadline Monday morning. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 They announced this morning that they are so far ahead of schedule that the road will probably re-open around 12 noon - 3PM on Sunday. Quote
Guest gcursor Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I am SO bummed that I don't live in LA. I know the fantasy was a lot better than the reality probably. However I wanted to go down to the construction site for a few hours and see how many hot men I could tip. Oh well...I'll go to the park and feed the squirrels instead p.s. It's not much difference anyway as they both like nuts Gcursor They announced this morning that they are so far ahead of schedule that the road will probably re-open around 12 noon - 3PM on Sunday.
