Members ihpguy Posted July 4, 2011 Members Posted July 4, 2011 They originally brought him in as the gay love interest for Kurt. But he clicked with Quinn. And then Quinn went back with Finn. So...no more good story lines. Also, last year he wasn't listed as a permanent cast member, only a guest star. For the coming year, Mike and Blaine have been made permanent cast members, they are going to bring in three or four newbies and the majority of the cast will graduate. Supposedly. If one would want to be cynical, one of the producers, show runner Ryan Murphy(even though he has announced his gay engagement) or someone else might have wanted to sleep with him and he turned him down. The old casting couch. If that is the case, then who is eating at the Y with Coach Shannon, "The Beiste" Quote

Guest lurkerspeaks Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 feel free to correct me if I am mistaken, but Chord was never listed as a regular cast member-he has always been a guest star. So, nothing in reality has changed. He could still make the occasional appearance when the show returns, or he might be written off completely.. At this point, we don't know. By getting a "regular" contract, that would tie him to the show and limit his availability to work elsewhere. That is why Darren Criss was signed on-because they want to make sure he isn't "snatched" up somewhere else. Chord's abs will definitely be missed if they choose to drop the character. Quote
Members eeyore Posted July 5, 2011 Members Posted July 5, 2011 Too bad about Chord, but I see that Harry Shum. Jr. has been signed as a regular for the next season. Maybe we'll get to see more of his abs. Quote
Members OneFinger Posted July 8, 2011 Members Posted July 8, 2011 Producers Backtrack - Cord Still Wanted on Glee Looks like so many Gleeks got upset after reports surfaced that Chord Overstreet was being dropped from the cast of ‘Glee’. Now, producers may want him to remain recurring after all… for now. TV/Line reports that Chord is indeed still wanted on the show even though he was not promoted to full-fledged regular as were Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. “His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time,” a source tells TV/Lime’s Michael Ausiello. “If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to Glee, and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins.” The insider points out that it took Shum “two years to become a regular,” adding, “If Chord has a great season, which we expect he will, then he will become a regular like Harry, possibly as early as January.” He’s 22. http://www.malecelebnews.com/?p=10715 Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted August 1, 2011 Members Posted August 1, 2011 Came across this photo of Chord and thought I would share. I cropped in hopes of a modest increase in display size. Quote
