Brazil.. is it the right choice for vacation?

Ok, by now, everyone has heard all the debates about Rio as a vacation destination. Inflation has hit the country of Brazil. Sure, things are more expensive than they used to be.. But name ONE place where things don't cost more than they did 5 years ago. While it is more than likely true that the saunas may not be "fully packed" with outstanding, beautiful available men 7 days a week, it is still possible to find someone you find attractive on most occasions, it just will cost a little more than it did a few years ago. Even if you agree to a rate of 100 Reis for a programma, that is still just $63 USD..When was the last time you got a drop dead gorgeous boy for that???

Here is a brief video of what you can and will find in Rio.. enjoy..

Many, many enjoyable activities besides saunas. And still programas are at that 60-70level. Three weeks ago I was proposed only 40Reais as it was one of the guys second trips upstairs. From the first session, his entry and transportation was already covered and now on the second session, just looking for extra.

Besides the saunas, if there is anything better than spending a day with friends on the beach at Farme de Amoedo, I'm not sure what. Well, maybe with these two guys and a bit more privacy?

Lurkerspeaks, thanks for beginning this particular thread. I completely agree with you although I have yet to return to Brasil and to Rio de janeiro in particular! You hit it on the head when you wrote about the world situation and the prices, not just Brasil!

If all goes as planned, I will be back in Rio in October after being away for four years. My friend and I already have our tickets. I'd wanted to travel business but gave in to having to purchase a coach ticket which will take me from Miami to Buenos Aires to Rio to MIAMI. The cost was more than I've ever paid during my previous 7 trips.

We have also made arrangements to stay in apartments in both places too.

We have yet to see how much in cost the cultural components will be along with our eating at various, selective restaurants, but we ARE NOT ALL THAT CONCERNED about the cost, and he has much more money than I.

We want to experience "Mother Brasil" again; we want to partake in many of those features which we have never experienced; we want to meet a few guys (escorts); we want to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about the rise in costs. So, to conclude, again thanks for presenting what you presented.

PS I've always stated that if guys were not that pleased with their "findings" in the sauna scene, then hire independent escorts from the www.netgay.com.br website. I engaged the services of three guys from a non defunct agency in Rio and DID NOT break the bank either. Today there are more independent escorts at that site than there ever has been, and I have been perusing Alexandre's site for over 10 years now! Take the plunge, men, and report back on the various sites that we Brasil lovers frequent!

Currently the Tower site is down. I sent the webmaster an email asking if it will make an appearance soon but have yet to hear back from him, but since I have 3.5 months before taking off-- I'll wait patiently!!!!!!

I can definitely understand and relate to having spending limits for vacations. But I am a firm believer that if you are THAT concerned about the amount of money needed for your trip, you should either 1) postpone the trip until you have more spending money, or 2) shorten the trip while not cutting back on the money allotted. The last thing I want to do after planning and traveling all that distance for vacation is to be stuck in not being able to do what I want because I already spent my budget for the day.

The same situation has happened in Montreal.. Like the rest of the world, it has changed..Rio has changed, Montreal has changed, NYC has changed (no more Gaity, Stellas, etc), Amsterdam has changed.. Everything has gone up in price. Does that mean that we all should just stay home and not venture out in search of excitement anymore? Not in my book. It just means I have to plan a little better, save a little more, and be a little less demanding.. But I still have fun when I go on vacation...

I don't know why the Brazilophiles are so up in arms about this. It's all a matter of where one thinks his vacation funds will get the most bang for their buck. Sure, Brazil was a bargain for a while, but now that it is not, people may choose to go other places. Why get so defensive about Brazil?

The fact is that once you have been there a few times, the novelty wears off. That's not true for me in New York or Thailand. Montreal became boring after several visits, but I don't see Montreal fans posting such defensive threads. Get over it already!

It wasn't meant to be defensive, Lucky. I was merely posting my thoughts that inflation is everywhere. Brazil (and montreal too) are still fun vacation spots if you accept that evolution is occuring there.

As reported, we recently showed our most viewers ever at one time, yet no noticable increase in postings here....Gotta do what ya gotta do :frantics:

Recently I have been spending an inordinate amount of each day at the net and at four sites in particular. At three of these the postings and gallery pics have decreased big time since summer is here.

Apparently more guys who spent time at their computer during the winter months have decreased since a new season has been on us for the past four days. A similar thing happened last year.

I have to get away and begin to enjoy the outdoors here in California but only when the sun is ablaze. Our weather has been fickle for sure, summer time or otherwise; the whole global climate conditions have been in a flux for the past five or more years for sure!

So, men, either go to your computers and spend endless time on them, or enjoy the weather that permits you to do a variety of things away from it. I hope that I can begin to wean myself from this one feature, though! I'm becoming too addicted to it!

Lurker, the above somewhat addresses your concern regarding postings, etc....

I guess I forget because being in Arizona, it is the opposite. Summer means 110 degree temps and higher, so you don't want to go outside. Winter is the nice time here to enjoy the outdoors.

Well, it is kind of chilly and brisk here in Rio. There is a nightly dampness. And I mean in the air. So, I am going to hopefully get warmed up tonight. I'll see what treasures await me this evening...

"...what treasures await me this evening..." Um, I am envious! ^_^^_^
