Members Lucky Posted June 6, 2011 Members Posted June 6, 2011 I noticed that hitoallusa logged in while I was away this past week, but did not post. His exile is a self-imposed one, as I know of no one who does not want him posting. Logging in indicates to me that he is still following the site and has interest in it. Everyone should feel free to post. Most of us want what we post to be read by others, and therein lies the rub. You have to post things that others want to read or otherwise post things that advance the thread. But sometimes we just post out of frustration, or an attempt at humor. Even then, we want the post read. Hitoallusa, his greatness I am told, posts a lot. He also compliments a lot. To me, compliments lose meaning when they are handed out so freely. I do not need to be told everyday how sweet I am. That's not why I am here. To start your post out by saying that you are not interested in the topic also makes one wonder why you are posting on that topic. Prolific a poster as I am, I do not comment on the majority of threads. But that's me. If you want me to read your posts, then you might give some thought to what I say. If not, ignore it all. The bottom line is that I am one person, you are one person, and we have equal right to post here. So, decide what kind of poster you want to be. If you think you might want to shift your image a bit, then do so. But basically just be yourself and leave it to others to read your stuff or not. But you don't need to hang out on the sidelines feeling unwelcome here. You are welcome here. Quote
Members TownsendPLocke Posted June 6, 2011 Members Posted June 6, 2011 "You are welcome here." Welllllll ok-but you proceed this with a complaint/opinion about a particular posting style(not that I disagree with you on this point)which might be taken as critical. Honestly-I come to this board to discuss things which I see as interesting.Sometimes others are interested-sometimes they are not and that is fine.I do try and post things here that might have relevence to MERmen-and I tend to only read post having to do with the giste of the site.I have other boards where I can discuss more mainstreem subjects. This is the only site I visit where I can openly discuss escorts/porn/strip clubs etc. So yes-all are welcome(as long as they are not jackasses) but that does not mean all will read/like your posts or find them of value. And that is perfectly fine. Guest lurkerspeaks Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I would compare this message board and its posters to Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors. We all have different needs/views/likes/dislikes. We may all shop at the same place, but we try different flavors. Some of us will always stick to the same, tried and true flavor we have had our entire life. Others will venture out and try a few different flavors--some of which we might like, others we won't...But who is to say which flavor is the best? I say enjoy your favorite flavor and let the guy next to you enjoy his favorite. If you are nice, offer up a taste of what you have, or sample a taste of his. But at least wave to the guy next to you since we all like ICE CREAM. Quote
Guest zipperzone Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I get your points. Everyone is welcome and it is up to each of us to decide whether or not we want to read posts from specific posters. OK - I'll go along with that. But....... there are posters, some of whom can be quite prolific who have basically nothing meaningful to say, no original point of view, nothing to ad to an ongoing discussion. They post nothing but platitudes, praising everyone and everything that has been said. If you want to read this kind of post - enjoy! Who am I to tell you how to spend your time. But IMO - for what its worth - and if anyone gives a rat's ass - such people just waste bandwidth. Quote
Members BigK Posted June 7, 2011 Members Posted June 7, 2011 Hey Zippy, I thought you got the points. Why don't you keep your butt to yourself. I welcome hitoallusa and all others. Quote
Guest zipperzone Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Hey Zippy, I thought you got the points. Why don't you keep your butt to yourself. I welcome hitoallusa and all others. Well now - who twisted your knickers today? Just because I said I got the points, I guess you think that I don't have a right to express my personal opinion? Your WRONG BigK, so utterly, profoundly and horribly wrong. :frantics: If you don't like what I post, no one is twisting your wrist to make you read them. Just pass on by..... as the song says. Quote
Members MsGuy Posted June 7, 2011 Members Posted June 7, 2011 Personally,I kinda like greatness/hito's posts and his gentle spirit. Quote
Members Lucky Posted June 8, 2011 Author Members Posted June 8, 2011 If we analyzed all the posts a person makes, no doubt we each make some stinkers. It's the overall attitude that I look for, and my points about hitoallusa are mine only. We read the stuff that interests us and ignore that which doesn't. There is no one size fits all. Quote
Members lookin Posted June 8, 2011 Members Posted June 8, 2011 There is no one size fits all. Too true. We can but try to be accommodating. ☺stinker dujour Quote
TotallyOz Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I miss his posts and he is welcome anytime. If someone doesn't like someone's post, they can ignore them. I have been told before that I post too much and need to let others post. My response is don't read them if you don't like them. Message boards have lots of interesting subjects and issues. I don't get into them all but I always appreciate everyone who takes the time to contribute. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Lucky, I didn't stop posting because I was offended. I always appreciate your honest opinions and comments. There were things going on at that time that I can not share and I thought stop posting here would be the best thing. I like everybody here. I do agree it will be painful if everyone posts like me. I am not upset or angry at anyone. I sometimes read posts here to see how everybody is doing and I go to both sites to check on my private messages. Thank you all for your messages. Quote
