The comments are better than the story:

----

Oy Veh: Sure, he's in jail NOW, but I bet this story ends with the guys release.

sui generis: ...so you're saying you think it'll be a happy ending?

Oy Veh: I'm saying that people have hard feelings now but pretty soon they'll begin to soften.

sui generis: I dunno, bad publicity from this incident is sure to come in spurts for a while. It'll be difficult to clean up, in the public eye.

DennyCrane: I don't know; I think the punishment will be stiff.

SidAndFinancy: In an unusual twist, he got off before he was arrested.

WillaCatheter: Yeah, but no jury is going to let this jerk off.

My cousin is a pilot, and he said once a month they have an issues meeting - where they basically meet to talk about anything that was in the log books over the course of the month. He said at one point over 6 months, there was constant mention of a dude who would jerk off during take-off. No one could stop him, so they finally learned to recognize him and just not sit anyone near him.

So that's how to get your own row of seats!!

This guy didn't jerk off, he just was a jerk:

The skies weren't so friendly for two brawling passengers on a United Airlines flight.

Air Force fighter jets were scrambled and the Ghana-bound plane returned to Dulles International Airport after the Sunday night fight aboard United Flight 990.

The cause of the punch-up shortly after takeoff: A seat reclined too far into the personal space of a fellow passenger, according to The Washington Post.

The flier in the offending seat was smacked in the head over his travel transgression, setting off a fistfight between the two, the Post said.

The pilot opted to take the 10:44 p.m. flight, with its 144 passengers, back to Dulles rather than continue with the 11-hour trip to Accra, Ghana.

At one point, the pilot informed the tower of his plans - and was asked if the main combatant was under control.

"Negative," the pilot says calmly. "The passenger is not secured at this time. The passenger has settled down though, but an assault has taken place. But at this time he is not secured."

The report of the mid-air assault led federal officials to send a pair of F-16 fighter jets to escort the United flight back to the airport in suburban Virginia.

"They were just following typical procedures when you have disturbances," said U.S. Navy Lt. Commander William Lewis, spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

Police greeted the battling passengers when they arrived back to Dulles shortly after midnight. Neither passenger was injured, and no arrests were made.

All the passengers eventually left Monday morning on their trip for Africa.

No arrests were made? I wonder who picked up the tab - this must have cost the airline a bundle.

Apparently there is plenty of blame to go around for this entire fiasco. Once the "fight" started and the captain decided to dump fuel, the flight was going nowhere very far away. Airline pilots carry "portable" handcuffs aka tie wraps, usually in their hats, to restrain folks like one or both of these guys. Why did they not use them? Once there was an "official" problem and because they were in the vicinity of DC, it is not surprising that fighters were launched. No fighters likely would have been sent if this had been Des Moines, IA. ^_^

All of the passengers were inconvenienced, UA dumped a lot of fuel, did not complete their trip, had to re-shuffle an entire crew and no one was arrested? One or both of those guys need to cool their heels a little while in a jail cell while they try to figure out how they are going to pay for the cost to UA, if not the military, etc.

Best regards,

RA1

Seriously. I guess considering the airspace, it's SOP. But I can't believe they didn't arrest those douchebags. It sounds like a summer trip with Mom & Dad: IF YOU DON'T STOP FIGHTING BACK THERE, WE'RE TURNING AROUND AND GOING HOME!

You know that other dude is like "WTF? I just touch my junk and I get arrested and these guys get into a fight and shit don't go down. Fuck you dudes! My dick is less dangerous than your fists and they didn't need no fucking fighter jets to get me to cum down."
