BiBottomBoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Hannah Montana isn't really a cancellation. Miley Cyrus wanted out of that contract desperately since the restrictions Disney was putting on her personal life were ridiculous and now that she's 18 she wants to be a woman and doesn't want to have to pretend to be a perpetual virgin until marriage. Plus, under that contract her dad got most of the money and she got a small percentage. Now she can negotiate a contract with another studio where she will get to keep what she's earned and if she wants to have a boyfriend or girlfriend not get shit about it. As for me, as long as The Killing and Game Of Thrones doesn't get cancelled, I'm happy. Quote
TotallyOz Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 As for me, as long as The Killing and Game Of Thrones doesn't get cancelled, I'm happy. OK. The Killing I enjoyed a bit. But, Game of Thrones was one I watched only when I had nothing else to do. What am I missing that you love it so much? For me, I will miss Chicago Code. I thought it was well-written and I really liked the character development. I also will miss The Event as the lead actor was a hottie. However, the one show that I will shed a tear for being cancelled is Brother's and Sisters. It was fabulous! It only got better with the years. Truly, one of my all time favs. Bye Bye Sally Field. I hope you come back in another form. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Game Of Thrones: 1. I've never seen midgets get blow jobs on mainstream American television before. 2. I've also never seen two naked twinks shave each other before engaging in gay sex on mainstream American television before. 3. Non stop incest. 4. All the creepy bad guys get killed in really nasty ways. 5. I can't wait for the evil blond people to be hacked to death. Quote

I did like when the lightbulb went off in his head this week that the blond bastard child is the son of the Queen and her brother. LOL Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 As far as I can tell everyone's parentage on that show is questionable. They clearly have no access to contraceptives and everyone is sticking their dick in everything regardless of gender, family connection, other relationships, etc... Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 i'm sure I'm the only one, but I will miss "The Event". I know it was not watched by many, but I liked the storyline and it was something different on TV. And the finale was last night and we will never know what happens when the 2.3 billion aliens land on earth which happens to be their original home anyway. Quote
Guest Erostotle Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Do you guys really watch all of these shows? I never watch much televison, and have never heard of most of these. Quote

Guest BeachBoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Wait a minute. L&O SVU is the only L&O in the franchise left?? Oh and the UK one? Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I think there should be "Law & Order: Game Of Thrones Unit." "In the seven kingdoms certain knights are given the rights and responsibilities of imposing the king's law no matter what challenges they may face from the Lannister family. These are their stories." Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 No. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" did come back afterall. It's airing new episodes right now on USA. The two original detectives came back after what's his name didn't come back from last year. Quote
Guest Allessio77 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Don't know most of these shows, but will miss Big Love, Saturday Night Lights....Caprica frustrated me, and did I see Sarah Palin's Alaska on that list...oh my Quote

Don't know most of these shows, but will miss Big Love, Saturday Night Lights....Caprica frustrated me, and did I see Sarah Palin's Alaska on that list...oh my I will also miss Big Love. I will say that I thought the final episode was perfect. A great show on TV and it ended in a way that viewers were given closure. Quote
Guest zipperzone Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Wait a minute. L&O SVU is the only L&O in the franchise left?? Oh and the UK one? If they cancel the only show that has hottie Meloni on it, then there's no hope left........... Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 SVU will never be cancelled. Would you want to be the TV exec who told Ice-T he was fired? Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Chris Noth. actually Chris Noth was on early in the show. Last year Jeff Goldblum was the main detective and he didn't want to re-sign unless they could guarantee it was renewed and they took months to renew it so he didn't resign for this season. So they brought back the last two detectives for this season. But I'm not watching it anymore. I liked Jeff Goldblum on the show; he made it interesting. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Now it was announced that Christopher Meloni is not returning to SVU. That will kill that show. I also heard that Mariska was only going to do 13 episodes before she "gets promoted" and then Jennifer Love Hewitt is joining the cast. So now they will have to have another male lead. The show will change dramatically next season. Quote
TotallyOz Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 The show will change dramatically next season. I enjoy this show very much and hope they keep things as close as possible to past seasons. I have been surprised at how many first season shows are cut. They don't even give them a chance anymore. It reminds me of Broadway and the speed at which new shows fail. If not an instant success, then failure. There were many shows with great potential and with more work, they would have succeeded. Quote
Guest tomcal Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I Like Game of Thrones too! I hadn't see any of them until last week, but had tivo'd them and really got into it! and the dwarf is kinda sexy! maybe "my type" is changing! LOL Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Maybe we should do a weekly Game Of Thrones thread! Quote

I stopped watching years ago because it creeped me out seeing a police authority act the way he did. He was a character study in emotionalism running roughshod over professionalism. Not sayin' it doesn't happen -- it's called burn out. Normal people can do that type of job only so long before it takes a toll or they develop a detachment . Else it ruins lives, usually of them and their family members. Quote

And I have never seen such a bundle of psychological problems wrapped in such a pretty package with such a perfect ass. My only trouble with the show was that most of the subject matter was about rapes and I find that somewhat depressing as a regular diet. I wonder what he is going to tackle next. I hope it's not comedy - that's not his forte. Strange he has not done more movie work. There can't be any shortage of $$$. Architectural Digest had a spread on his new condo a year or so ago. 60th floor, overlooking Central Park. You couldn't buy that for under 5 mil and the monthly upkeep is probably north of 5 grand. Life is sweet for some...... Quote
