"Lawyers for Mr. Strauss-Kahn said Monday that they believed the forensic evidence would be inconsistent with a “forcible encounter.”

So they want the public to believe that this African immigrant was so taken with the lovely attributes of this French pig that she threw down her mop and willingly had sex with him?

It must be his kissable lips:

The theory is it was a set up. She pretended to be an escort he had called then started screaming rape after he'd cum in her mouth - giving her the DNA evidence she needed.

Not that crazy an idea given that the Sarkozy campaign has for a long time said they'd give a million dollars to anyone who could provide "evidence" that the dude was "sexually deviant."

I'm also inclined to believe there is more to this than meets the eye. How could he force her to blow him until he came? All she had to do was clamp down her teeth and it would have been game over. I wonder if she could pass a lie-detector test? I doubt it. Much money must have - or will be - changing hands IMO.

Sorry - but I don't understand your reply

Perhaps BBB wants you to explain what the more that does not meet the eye in the "this" he printed in the post is.

Best regards,

I seriously doubt that the case would have gone as far as it has had not the prosecutors had the goods. Given this guy's history, it is awfully hard to give him the benefit of any doubt. But we all believe in the concept of "innocent until proven guilty," don't we?

"This" is Internet slang for "I agree with you."

The French newspapers are reporting today that the maid in question is HIV positive.

I wonder how that will effect things - and if this dude is really terrified that he's going to come down with the "fuck flu" pretty soon.

I agree with the first part of what you said. I see it as an episode of Law & Order - if it were not rick solid, they would have buried it somehow.

I was being ironic - but that is a theory that was posted in the local newspaper today.

Could you image the stage setting for that trade? Virgins. White Dresses.

"I can't believe that!" said Alice.

"Can't you?" the queen said in a pitying tone. "Try again, draw a long breath, and shut your eyes."

Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said. "One can't believe impossible things."

"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

I have never heard of a government trading criminals. Sometimes they exchange political prisoners, but not people convicted of violent crimes.

The NY Times takes a look at the strength of the case and possible trial tactics:

I continue to be amazed that an immigrant maid could be taken so seriously that the powerful head of the IMF would be taken off a plane and arrested solely on her word. America sometimes impresses. Now let's hope that she is telling the truth, or that justice prevails, or something like that.

The French can't believe it either.

And they are going to be way pissed off when he has to go through a jury trial. In France, most cases are decided by magistrates behind closed doors without a jury.

When the French realize that a bunch of unemployed people and senior citizens will decide this guy's fate they will freak the fuck out.

The French elite are insufferable.

Maybe it's time for the French to give their masters another taste of Marianne's fury...
