TotallyOz Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Right around the corner from Mango Tree (one Soi down from Tartawan) are several great bars. They are very inexpensive compared to other bars in Bangkok or Pattaya. First Mango Tree is a fabulous restaurant. If you don't make reservations, you may not get in. Great Thai food. Solid is a fun bar with about 15 or so gogo boys. They have some great looking guys and it is very laid back and friendly. The drinks are 100 baht. I have known the mamasan since the old Boy dot com across from Future Boys. Super A is around the corner from that bar and you have to walk upstairs. The place is small but some fantastic guys there. They have a short time room for 200 baht. The drinks are 120 baht. There were about 25 guys when I was there this past weekend. Right under Super A is a massage place with about 15 plus cute guys. Massages are 500 baht with happy ending. I was not sure the age of the boys there so I did not get a massage. Night Boys is a great bar that is totally renovated and nice. It is quite well-done and has many boys. Nature Boys only had 3 guys working so I didn't go in. But, if you are looking for a fun night in Bangkok with some amazing great gay boys, go to Mango Tree for dinner and then venture on the same soi for all the bars above. A trip to Tawan on the same soi is also fun but not really my type of guy. Quote
Members axiom2001 Posted May 9, 2011 Members Posted May 9, 2011 I now see where you are: you're back in Thailand, "the land of smiles!" Continue to enjoy yourself as I know you will! If I am correct--is Thailand your second home? I know you meandered for a while (way back when) when you asked for advice as where you should settle. Quote
TotallyOz Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thailand seems to be the place I feel most comfortable. But, it is also the easiest to find nice places to live very inexpensively. Quote

TotallyOz Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 I was in X Boys 2 weeks ago and it was pretty bland. But, the waiter we knew told us there were fresh new boys from Issan so we went in and he was telling the truth. There were at least 20 new boys on stage that I have never seen before and the bland turned into hot! It is always amazing to me how fast the bars change from bad to good and vice versa. Future Boys was once my favorite place in Bangkok. I loved it there. Now, it is almost a ghost town. X Boys is a friend's favorite place and I have always enjoyed it but it is on and off like cold water. It was nice to see that this week, it was back on! I also hit Super A boys again and had a lot of fun. Dream Boys was great as usual and I found several there I liked but at 300 baht a drink, it is almost crazy to even ask a boy to sit and have a drink. It is turned into more of a show bar only and not a gogo bar even though they have hot boys, I don't feel like paying 300 baht for a boy to have a drink to see what he is like. Quote
Members Lucky Posted May 14, 2011 Members Posted May 14, 2011 300 baht! I can only imagine what a Red Bull would cost. In Brazil, that's what all the boys seem to want at the saunas, and it quite expensive too. Quote
Members ihpguy Posted May 16, 2011 Members Posted May 16, 2011 15Reais for a can of Red Bull and then talk on another 10Reais for the shot of whatever...even Gatorade is almost as bad! Stick to soft drinks, water or juice here in Rio. Quote
Guest xiandarkthorne Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Now that the latest elections are over, I hope things don't change too much - or only for the better - as I'm planning a vacation next month. Quote

Why did you finally decide against Bali? (See, someone really does read your blog. ) Hi MsGuy, Thanks for reading and asking. I decided against going to Bali this trip for two reasons - I don't feel comfortable going some place new if I can't plan a budget ahead (or have enough money to spare that it wouldn't matter) and there are no direct flights to Bali from Penang. Ass things turned out, I ended up making my first trip to Pattaya where I stayed at TwoGuys Guesthouse in Sunnee Plaza. It was a very rushed sort of holiday as I only managed to free up 6 days and I had to go by train, which took up nearly three days. Still, I am glad I finally made it to Pattaya as I regarded this trip somewhat like a recon to check out how much I should reasonably expect to spend if I stayed a week next time. It was a lot cheaper than I expected, and my expenses included a night's stay in Bangkok just to recover from the first train journey and to prepare for the nightmare of the returne trip (I didn't manage to get a lower berth and had to climb up and down a foot-wide ladder to reach my sleeping berth). Next time, I'll make sure I book my plane tickets early! Quote

Why did you finally decide against Bali? (See, someone really does read your blog. ) Hi again MsGuy, Regarding my blog, I put on so much weight from depression and overwork that I was too ashamed to take any photos of myself at Pattaya. I didn't even dare go swimming at the Dongtan gay beach. Needless to say, I plan to remedy that particular situation in time for my next holiday in May 2012. Quote
