Guest tomcal Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Today the Brazilian Dollar(real) is $1.56 to the U.S. $1.00 When I was going there in 2002 and 03 it was about $3.80R to U.S. $1.00 Recently the sauna prices have gone up for admission and room rental. It pays to go to the saunas on the specific nights they have specials, for example, Pointe has Free rooms on Monday nights, 117 has free rooms on Tuesday nights. If you do more than one guy a evening like some do ( ) in the course of a week this can add up! Here's what Pointe has posted for pricing: Entrada - R$ 40,00 = U.S. $25.50 Suite simples: R$ 25,00 16.00 Suíte Master: R$ 50,00 32.00 So if you pay a guy $70.R admission of $40. and get the cheaper room at $25. Your cost would be approximately $135.R or $86, U.S before any drinks/food. Club 117 is slightly cheaper: Entrada: R$ 35,00 Suite: R$ 20,00 and Meo Mundo is the least expensive: Entrada: R$ 35,00 (todos os dias) Quartos: R$ 10,00 – R$ 15,00 – R$20,00 ( 1 hora)(different size rooms) Quarto Executivo: R$ 25,00 ( 1 hora ) Quote

Members Lucky Posted May 6, 2011 Members Posted May 6, 2011 The first time I went to Rio, I stayed in an 11th floor ocean front room at the Sol Ipanema. All 7 nights, in high season with tax, cost me $1100. Now one night- in low season- is $322 plus tax. There is nothing special about this hotel other than the view. Quote
Members ihpguy Posted May 8, 2011 Members Posted May 8, 2011 Meio Mundo's rooms include condoms, lube and a sheet. They also have the free ones where lube, sheet and condom cost additional. Something to keep in mind. Another big surprise is at the end of the night, when settling the bill at the balcao, if you buy anyone something to drink. Gatorade and Red Bull are EXPENSIVE. Even a can of juice will cost more than a soft drink. Quote
