Lesbians Desperate To Compete

After the wildly successful Palm Springs Weekend, drawing hordes of escort-hiring men and their young hip-attachments, lesbians will this weekend attempt to compete with an event of their own. So what is their draw? Golf. Yes, golf. Apparently lesbians like to golf. They don't have little balls of their own to play with, so they use others' little balls.

Thousands of ball-less humans will descend upon Palm Springs Regional Airport this weekend, making it a good time to visit New York. Once these women have gone back to Buffalo or wherever they came from, then hordes of drug-loving young gay men will arrive for the Palm Springs White Party the following Weekend.

Temperatures are expected to be near 100 today.

(Word is that Jesus himself will be arriving on the weekend following the White Party. Stay tuned.)

Yep, made me spit out laughter on my keyboard.

On average, Lesbians are the most tasteless humans on the planet. I had a friend years ago who claimed they always decorated their apartments to match their desert boots.

Unfortunately, I have never met any lesbians in my life. There is not a single lesbian around me in my life. I see a lot of gay guys around me and at work but no lesbians. I find it odd.

I think you have to go to a frat party to meet "lesbians" (i.e., two girls making out).

Seriously though, they do kind of stick to themselves, don't they?

Their snails trails are like superglue.

I got an uncle who makes jokes like you.

...You're not....

Uncle Jimmy?

Is it you?

If similar comments were made about gay men, most of you would be foaming at the mouth about anti-gay bigotry. Why is it OK to make demeaning comments about lesbians as a group? They have been far more reliable gay allies than the heterosexual politicians we so slavishly court.

Lighten up - they are only jokes. Do you think for one minute that lesbians don't make jokes about gay men? If we all can't laugh at ourselves, we are doomed!

And your remark about lesbians being "far more reliable gay allies than the heterosexual politicians we so slavishly court" makes absolutely no sense at all. Lesbians are gay too - incase you never noticed - so by being "supportive" as you call it, did it not occur to you that they are being "supportive" of themselves?

And another gay joke for you enjoyment....... You can always tell a Lesbian - but you can't tell them much.

Making nasty comments about lesbians isn't "laughing at ourselves"--it's trying to separate ourselves from someone else by laughing at THEM. Of course I realize that that lesbians are gay, too, and they seem to realize that we all need to support one another better than many gay men do.

Today I saw a group of the women here for the party, and they were so joyful to be together and having fun with their friends in a warm and accepting environment. It's the same spirit that you see at many gay events, where the sense of togetherness prevails.

That said, I think jokes are okay too. I don't see the above as being mean-spirited. One thing we know is that lesbians will stand for us when it counts, and the reverse is true too.

I hear you, Pollyanna, but I kind of doubt that most lesbians would find zipperzone's and BBB's comments cute and amusing rather than mean-spirited.

I DID say - "on average" - not all.

Suze Orman would be a good example of a lipstick lesbian. Tasteful (great wardrobe), smart & rich. I even paid money to see her.

In the black eyes "joke," try changing 'lesbian' to 'queer' and see how funny it sounds.

Lesbians joke about cutting off mens' penises, but I have never felt the need to hold tightly in their presence. I do think the zipper has a way of stating things in the extreme, but I imagine he would be kind to any woman who was in need of his help or courtesy. That's the bottom line.

Well In Will and Grace, IMO lesbians were not represented well. I didn't particularly like the fact that lesbians are depicted in a funny way in the show. Jack used to make unpleasant comments about lesbians and women too. I know a lot of gays watched and laughed about it. One friend of mine really loved that show. We don't criticize Will and Grace writers and producers for those comments, right? I don't think Zipperzone's comments are mean spirited, maybe he was just trying to be humorous like Jack. Some will laugh about it and others will be angry but there is nothing we can do about what has been said.

You should try boxers if your tighty whities are bothering you that much.

I love people like you who are so "Politically Correct" - Life must be one constant battle.

I bet you go nuts when you hear a black person use the "N" word :excl:

I believe in treating people the way I would like to be treated. One should always try that first. If you come across someone who doesn't respond well - well, you have several choices available to you. The easiest is to ignore them and walk away.
