Sorry I am typing by cell phone. Oliver organized this years event but did not invite Daddy. When Daddy showed people treated him nicely, and I would like to leave It at that.

He (daddy) was invited to the party this year against my express wishes by people who were themselves guests and had no right to invite anybody.

I think this sums it up nicely.

Interesting - thanks for the info. Quite frankly, if I were you, I'd be really pissed off. I can't imagine the audacity of an invited guest being so crass as to extend an invitation. Some people have no fucking breeding. :frantics: :frantics: :frantics:

I think it is truly sad that such a wonderful event has sunk to these depths, but I guess that was expected when human emotions are involved. I am well aware of the animosity between Daddy and Lucky and Lucky’s move to this board last year after apparently being banned by Daddy at the other site. I also understand from what Lucky has said that HE was the original organizer of this event but over the years there has been an expansion of hosts beyond Lucky. Since this event encompassed two different message boards with plenty of hard feelings between posters I was wondering when this turn of events would occur. From all indications EVERYONE got along and behaved like human beings during the event. It was only afterward that things went on the downslide. Both Oz and Daddy were in attendance and NEITHER has said a single disparaging word about each other or either site. Below I have entered the links for the open invitation from both boards for this event. There appears to be a bit of difference how the invite was interpreted by the members at large and the hosts. It appears to be an open invitation and then changed a bit on MER to be for “Regular” posters only. That caveat did not seem to appear in the invitation on Daddy’s. However OZ, to a greater extent, and Daddy both post on their respective sites. When you are inviting people from two different message boards that tend to have allegiance to one site or the other there are going to be some logistical problems. THESE should have been worked out, if they really were problems, between the hosts of the event so all were on the same page. I also feel those thanking OZ and Daddy were NOT thanking them for organizing the event, but for having two websites that allow clients to make intelligent decisions and for escorts to showcase themselves if they choose. The sites also allow for like minded individuals to have a commonality with other like minded posters and to discuss (not always like adults) their likes, dislikes and interact about the hobby so many enjoy. While everyone seemed on their best behavior at the event it is now quite plain that the daggers have come out when in all reality they would have been much better to let it go and have whatever pleasant memories they got from going to Palm Springs. Can’t people be adults and keep differences between themselves as THEIR personal matter and not as fodder for these boards. We can’t all love each other, however we certainly can all respect each other and if you aren’t happy with how things went you have two choices.

1. Don’t be involved next year as a host, client, escort or uninvited guest.

2. If everyone actually isn’t welcome then change the format of the invitation.

I have absolutely NO DOG IN THIS FIGHT, I didn’t go, didn’t consider going and usually stay pretty quiet on both boards. However this has gone to a level that is disrespectful and childish and shows the true colors of many posters. If you don’t like someone enough that it is disdainful to be around them, then just don’t go.

flguy, thank you for your considered reply to this thread. In addition to your comments, friends have suggested to me privately that I should have just stayed out of this thread, and, upon reflection, I agree with them.

At the time of the event, we took the high road. At Saturday's dinner, I was the MC. I welcomed Daddy to the event, and, during the course of the event, folks also made him feel welcomed. It was my intent that everyone have a good time.

I recognize that if it were not for the message centers, there would be no posters to invite to the event. The argument between myself and Daddy is just that. I could not understand why he would both want me off of his message center and yet want to come to the event that I founded and co-hosted. But once he was there it was incumbent upon me and others to make him feel welcome. I think we did that.

Yet since then other threads and comments have been made. Once the event was over, I feel that they serve no purpose. I let my animosity towards Daddy draw me into this thread and I regret that. I also should let Oliver speak for himself if he chooses to do so. He is the consummate gentleman and I doubt he would want to be drawn into this.

So, in retrospect, had it not been late at night I might have taken a different tact. Today I wish I had. Nothing is served by drawing this out. My days at Daddy's site are over and I should let sleeping dogs lie.

I think and at least Hope that Lucky knows my "bitchy" comment is a compliment. I have always valued his straightforward approach. Its his honesty I value more than any other quality. Im sure he knows that Its a quality I wouldnt mind emulating.

OZ It truly was a pleasure and the only thing I can say is Romann kept me so busy... I am sorry I didnt get more time to truly meet you... and we have to get TY there. seriously.

I really like the banter we have had here and honestly its got me more involved than I have been for awhile. Zipper should know I always loved a good sparring with him when he was a poster on the other site and Im actually glad to find he is still here. I may not agree with him but he always makes me think. Often a rarity for a loud mouth like me. LOL

Epigonos Got it right. Oz and Daddy (kilt and all) set a great stage for a good joint event. They are the ones around whom these sites circle. They are to be congratulated. That does not lessen the role of Oliver Lucky Charlie and so many other amazing men whose tireless work makes the event possible. It just adds to the experience

Boy NYTomCat do you have it COMPLETELY wrong!

THE POSTERS are the ones who make these sites what they are.Totaly Oz would be the first to tell you this.Unfortunately the fella over at "the other site"would not tell you this ever. That is why I left there(on my own btw)and have never posted there again.

Please note there has not been a single thank you to anyone from this fella posted on his site. That speaks volumes IMO and should tell you all you need to know about his true personality.

And as Lucky has noted-HE(Lucky) was the one that started this tradition.I was there at the start but just as a guest. We had a very nice group back then.I am glad it has grown over the years.

For my part I just kept looking past the fella from the other site to keep things civil-second year in a row that I have had to do this. This is extremely dificult since he has a bombastic, know everything, loud manner which I find grating.

Totally Oz would not want me telling you this-but it was he who held out the olive branch to the other guy.And he had to push a bit to get to a civil point of understanding. My witnessing this exchange told me all I needed to know about two very different people-and made me feel very comfortable choosing to be a member of this site rather that "The other site"

This is exactly the type of petty fussing and feuding that I heard and was forced to deal with for thirty-six years teaching at the high school level. High school students at least have the excuse that they are young; what’s our excuse? It is embarrassing to hear the same nonsense coming from grown men.

Clearly the important things to take from this are:

it was a great weekend thanks to Oliver and Jason and whoever else deserves credit,

a great time seems to have been had by all while in attendance,

many got to meet familiar posters for the first time, and

others got to renew acquaintances from times past.

I wish I had been able to make it. Color me with envy. :sorcerer:

I think it speaks well of the community that members from both sites can come together over shared interests with shared friends to have a great time. It indicates that common interests are more important than any differences.

Enough is enough already.

I thinks it's time for this thread to be shunted to the Sandbox.

:rolleyes:Sorry for the delay in commenting, but my son and his family have been visiting, making great use of the water volley ball set graciously contributed by sfwestcoaster and David. I wasn't able to get them out of the pool!

First Thank you to Lucky for starting this annual party seven years ago and continuing it for all this time. I've had no original ideas, just copied his example and picked his brain for further ideas. I also wish to thank him for his gracious welcoming remarks before the Saturday dinner. He set the tone for a civilized and enjoyable evening. (And for those of us who attended The Follies, we enjoyed an entertaining, though hokey production.)

Second I wish to thank Daddy, TotallyOz, and Lucky for their gentlemanly, civilized demeanor during all the functions which made for everyone's comfort and enjoyment.

Third but not least, I wish to thank my Erotic Technical Consultant, Jason Carter, as I have already done.

Then there are those who contributed the food for this non-cook to provide a fine array on Sunday. Thanks first to Lucky's partner who kept us supplied with such a variety for our delectation. Also to Epigonos for the deviled eggs (which he himself hates), and the chicken fingers (who knew chickens had fingers?) which magically disappeared.

Also thanks to leigh.bess.toad, Dane Michaels, Ryaan Morgan, indymedic, and AJ Irons for the elegant goody box containing wine and other delicacies. Thank you also to those who brought other potables and edibles for us to enjoy. One further note to TotallyOz for the gorgeous bouquet and bottle of bubbly, and to Brandon for the lily bouquet which filled the house with fragrance for days afterwards.

It was a pleasure to once again renew acquaintance with sfwestcoaster, Epigonos (welllll, we'll see about that one!), jawjateck, NYTomcat, Bill (Daddy), Charlie (and partner), Lucky's partner and his friend, jj69, and townsendplocke (and friend). It was also a pleasure to welcome new acquaintances, who I hope will become friends, Bosguy, leigh.bess.toad, indymedic, TomCal, and TotallyOz.

And last, but not least, we were fortunate to have the best of the best for the past few years, namely David SF, Romann, AJ Irons, and Brandon Williams; as well as some who undoubtedly will join them in the future Dane Michaels, Ryaan Morgan, Scott and Ace. And we cannot forget the Hall of Fame members Steven Kesslar, Jason Carter, Nate Bruno and Tyger. All provided excellent company, as well as great scenery!

I have only one regret that my dear friend, jackhammer, did not attend. You do know that we all wanted you to be here. If for no other reason than Andrew D might have been here, too! :sorcerer:

Thank you all for providing another enjoyable time and for keeping whatever undercurrents there may have been just that. I hope you all had as much fun as I did!

It is always to good to read nice posts like this. That's why I'm a bit optimistic about our future despite of things that go on around us. One man's original idea led to two websites and then it led to gatherings that both escorts and clients can come and enjoy their weekend. It shows how creative we are, most of all enjoy life . The fact that people can do this gives me hope and assurance that our future is not that gloom. Everything starts small and no event is perfect but I wish many more happy events for those who participate . Thank you for creating a wonderful event for me to witness in my life. This event shows that gays are not that bad and we are not freaks. I guess all of you should be applauded for what you have achieved.

Yes, this thread notwithstanding, the event came off very well and everyone felt welcomed. Many kudos to Oliver for again hosting a successful pool party with this year the added job of organizing the Saturday night events. I do think some mention should go to the umm, shadow observer, who made sure everyone felt loved as well.

I just hope Homeland Security is not reading this. With all the code names I would be concerned that our friend Oliver might end up on the no fly list :o

Oh and a very thoughtful post ^_^
