Members KYTOP Posted March 22, 2011 Members Posted March 22, 2011 I will admit that I have thought of Donald Trump as a self promoting wing bag at times but find him running for President interesting. I got in the car a couple of weeks ago and the radio came on to Rush Limbaugh. As I started to change the station he mentioned he was having Trump on in a couple of minutes. I thought this might be interesting and decided to listen. I found his take on the economy and trade issues with China (and their currency), Korea and other foreign issues that are killing our economy very interesting. Since then I've seen him on a few other shows and he makes some good points, even though some of his views would probably piss off the rest of the world. Don't know were he stands on social issues but I would think that being so visible in New York circles he would have some moderate opinions there? But to win the Republican nomination he will surely have to lean Conservative on some of that I would think. I understand he may oppose gay marriage. But if the economy is still in the tank social issues may be on the far back burner in the next election. I have NO idea if I would vote for the guy but I really hope he jumps into the Presidental Race. Mainly because I think he will force a very interesting debate about our economic relations with China, Korea and several other countries. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 He's already come out and said that gays should NOT be allowed to marry and should NOT have any special rights. So he is pandering to the far right. he's an idiot on all levels. He is another reality star running for president (assuming Sarah Palin runs as well). Quote

I would put his presidency on about the same level as Glenn Beck's. The man is too stupid to realize that gays don't want special rights, just equal rights. I don't think he has a snowballs chance in hell of being a serious contender. I'm totally surprised that the egocentric fool hasn't appeared on Dancing With The Stars..... yet Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 That's only because he is busy on his own reality crap on Sunday nights. . . Quote
TotallyOz Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Donald is perhaps the only person I find more annoying than Sarah Palin. Quote

TotallyOz Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Even more annoying than Glenn Beck? Well, I don't watch Fox or Glenn Beck. Quote

Guest zipperzone Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Well, I don't watch Fox or Glenn Beck. Neither do I but he used to be on CNN and he was a whack-job there as well. And I understand Fox is paying him 50 million a year, but may not renew his contract which expires end of 2011. First sensible thing Fox has ever done. (end the contract, that is) Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Donald Trump admitted he was a "birther" the other day - so, you know, fuck him. Quote

Guest zipperzone Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Are you serious? 50 million. That can't be right. That is not possible. Evidently that was for the run of his contract so it could have been less per year if his contract was for a longer period. But "they" are reporting that it expires 12/31/11, so I guess it was/is 50 mil for whatever length of time he was employed by Fox. Go figure....... Let us not forget that a "star's" worth is predicated totally on what the network figures they can rake in advertising dollars. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 It's not that much really. Charlie Sheen before all the bullshit was making 2.5 million an episode for 24 episodes a year. Do the math on that! Quote
