Guest lurkerspeaks Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Have you seen any good movies lately? Are you eagerly anticipating any arrivals? Tell us about them? Likewise, is there any movie that you were really looking forward to, only to be let down once you saw it? I will start with a good one I just watched--500 days of Summer. It was a quirky story of love and life..starring the cute Joseph Gordon Levitt. I would give it two snaps up (in a Z formation). Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I don't have netflix but I'm currently going through all seven seasons of Buffy for the first time in years. Spike is yummy. Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I enjoyed 500 Days of Summer! I found it quite nice to watch. I don't get Netflix either as I live out of USA most of the year. However, I have been re-watching 24 from season 1. Quote
Members eeyore Posted December 27, 2010 Members Posted December 27, 2010 I watched 'Watercolors' tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not trained in the arts but I highly recommend it. I have not seen it on any of the cable channels but it's available on Netflix. Here's a link to the NF page. You can peruse the reviews there. http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Watercolors/70131770?trkid=2361637#height1613 Quote

The movie I saw was Clapham Junction, and I hated it. It seemed to portray gay life as negatively as it could. Quote
Members eeyore Posted May 9, 2011 Members Posted May 9, 2011 'A.K.A' Sort of a gay themed Mr. Ripley. Not of the same caliber but still enjoyable with an evening glass of Merlot. Pleasant eye candy. See NF for the reviews. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I watch one or two movies a month. Watch Glee episodes twice a month. Rest of my time is spent on something else and visiting here so I don't subscribe to Netflix. Recent movie I watched was Jane Eyre and I liked it. Quote
Members eeyore Posted June 14, 2011 Members Posted June 14, 2011 I'm recommending 'Defying Gravity'. Here's a copy/paste of the synopsis from Netflix: 'Frat boy Griff (Daniel Chilson), who works hard to keep his brothers in the dark about his intimate encounters with Pete (Don Handfield), is forced to come to terms with his sexual identity in this touching drama. Pete, who left the frat house for a more liberating off-campus life, wants a real relationship, while Griff claims he only wants sex. But when gay-bashing thugs beat Pete into a coma, Griff must face his true feelings for him.' Watched it last night and enjoyed it. Quote
