TotallyOz Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I have my IPad with me and I want to get a plan for it for one month only. I went to Vivo and Claro today and both told me they didn't have a month to month and that I needed an address in Brazil as well as a CPF and other documents. I am going to try TIM tomorrow. But, I really want a sim for this. Any suggestions? Quote

It is true that you need a CPF and address, but better than the previous rule that they all had at the start of 2010 - Brasilian residency card or some form of permanent visa as well for any monthly plan. Thanks ihpguy. By a mini modem, do you mean one that needs a USB for access? Quote
Members ihpguy Posted January 8, 2011 Members Posted January 8, 2011 Thanks ihpguy. By a mini modem, do you mean one that needs a USB for access? Yes. It's a bit bigger than a large disposable lighter. And can be connected directly into a laptop or tower or connected via the cord supplied. If this helps: ZTE MODEM USB MF 626 www.zte.com.cn I got this modem from CLARO free with a one year contract. After the fact, they began with the pre-pay plan. I have not investigated anything as my contract runs a few more months, however you might be able to buy your own modem and then just use a CLARO chip and pre-pay? Quote
Members demedici Posted January 8, 2011 Members Posted January 8, 2011 In the past, TIM would allow you to use your passport as ID to buy a pay-go plan for cell phones. Maybe it will apply for iPad. Go to the bigger shops in Shopping Leblon or Fashion Rio, might be better luck there. Quote
