Guest glutes
After last nights come from behind (5-0), the Yankees are the best! Was that stadium and G.W. Bush subdued or what after the 8th inning? Let us hope SF Giants can do the same in Philly tonite. SF vs. NY, East Coast vs. Left Coast - what a match-up it would be. Members RA1
Sorry, but the WS is most likely to be PHL vs NYY. And, I am hoping the Phillies win it again, even though they are among the arch enemies of ATL. NL is "real" baseball. Best regards, RA1
Members Lucky
Last night's Yankee comeback, or Texas meltdown, depending on your point of view, was exciting. It's what keeps me watching these games all these years. I am as aware of the Yankee's weaknesses as anyone, having watched the majority of their games this year. They will beat Texas in this playoff. Since I am more of a San Francisco loyalist than a Philadelphia one, I also root for the Giants to make the World Series. I very much would like to comfort Buster Posey after the Giants lose!
Guest FourAces
You guys are so funny. Its obvious we will see the Rangers play the Giants ... I can hear the network ad sales people crying now
Members Lucky
The Yankees were an embarrassment last night. Sure, they were up against a great pitcher, but aren't they supposed to be great hitters? The big bats, excepting Robinson Cano, are limp at the wrong time. Members MsGuy
Lucky, when even the guys at ESPN start laughing at the level of hype Cliff Lee is getting you know things are getting over the top. Still 13 K, 1 walk, 8 innings. And ready to do the 9th if it had been necessary. So far Lee is walking the walk. ---- On a happier note, your Buster called a nice game for my Timmy on their last outing. Would that all the boys here would play so well together. Members MsGuy
According to the talking heads on ESPN, 11 out of the last 71 times a team went down 3 games to 1 in a playoff series, they staged a comeback. All is not yet lost! Or to quote Yogi, "It ain't over 'till it's over."
Members RA1
I wish to amend my previous remark. My prediction at that time was NYY vs. PHL but that was not necessarily my fondest desire. It won't make me unhappy to see SFO vs TX. TX has never been in a WS and how often have the Giants since moving to SFO? New blood is always fun and exciting, no? However, I still "prefer" the NL team to win. Just my thoughts. Best regards RA1 PS--PHL vs. TX will only be half as exciting, according to the theory delineated above.
Members Lucky
As I recall, the last time the giants were in the World Series was against Oakland and a huge earthquake hit.

Members MsGuy
Don't worry about Lucky's memory, Charlie. He only focused in on the Giants after Buster Posey's buttocks caught his attention last summer. Speaking of which, Lucky's boy Buster has been putting on quite a post season show. Who would have guessed that a 23 year old rookie catcher that started the season in the minors would be trusted to call payoff games for the Giants. He sure has stepped up to the plate big time. By the way, Lucky, those pics you posted don't do him full justice. Jogging out to the mound trying his best to look all serious and grownup, he's just heartbreakingly cute! Next up is a game 5 rematch of Halladay and Lincecum. I hope both our guys do well.
Members MsGuy
This just out (too late to edit into the proceeding post): Buster Posey and Joe Garagiola (in 1946) are the only two rookie catchers to get 4 hits in a MLB post-season game. Impressive.

Members Lucky
Geez, that Joe Girardi should be fired. Walking Hamilton to pitch to Guerrero? Now we're behind 5-1. My guess is that hotels in New York will soon be inundated with cancellations for next week!
Members MsGuy
In all fairness, I gotta say that the Rangers are plain out playing the Yanks. Maybe Steinbrenner, Jr., should just let those big salary old guys go and buy a whole new team in the off season. Lots of high dollar hitters and pitchers will be free agents this winter. Yeah, I know that's heresy but still it ain't what you did for me, it's what you will do. ---- Edit: well, its over. the fat lady done sung. Members Lucky
I agree, MsGuy, the Yankees did not play hungry. So, congratulations to the Texas Rangers, especially Ian Kinsler, Derek Holland, and Josh Hamilton. Can we all party together tonight? Guest glutes
OMG, this means GWB is going to be at the World Series? He can't even stand with (right!) hand over heart during the 7th inning stretch!

Guest CharliePS
I thought Joe Girardi was hot when he was a player, and I think he is still as sexy as most of the Yankees. Steinbrenner isn't around to fire him, so he may get another chance to coach next year. It's nice to get some new faces and bodies to look at in this year's WS; how about David Murphy? Members Lucky
In case you are unaware, David Murphy plays for the Rangers, but if this pic shows cum on his face, then he may play for us!
