Members lookin Posted September 19, 2010 Members Posted September 19, 2010 oh..come on now guys... no one wants to play??? 10 views and not one person has responded with the poll.. I saw the headline and was all ready to jump in. After all, 'Old TV Trivia' is right up my alley. But you're talking seventies and eighties, when I was otherwise occupied, rather than the fifties when I did most of my watching. I got a couple of them, but petered out right after 'I Love Lucy'. Now go back a couple of decades, and I'm your man. Go ahead, ask me anything about Howdy Doody! Quote
Members RA1 Posted September 19, 2010 Members Posted September 19, 2010 I can't think of any hard questions, so just general ones: 1. Name of host? 2. What was the audience called? 3. Name of clown? How did he communicate? 4.Name of Indian Princess? Any other characters? Best regards, RA1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted September 19, 2010 Members Posted September 19, 2010 Go ahead, ask me anything about Howdy Doody! Any truth to the persistant rumor that Mr. Doody and Lamb Chop did some porn work together before they made it big? Quote

Name of clown? How did he communicate? 4.Name of Indian Princess? Any other characters? Best regards, RA1 I believe this question is what they call a 'softball' in the Q&A biz. Thank you! 1. "Buffalo" Bob Smith 2. The Peanut Gallery 3. Clarabell. Horn. (He was also proficient with a seltzer bottle.) 4. Princess SummerFallWinterSpring There were quite a few other characters, but my personal faves were Phineas T. Bluster and the Flub-a-Dub. Oh, and Dilly Dally! Needless to say, not much homework got done in my house until after dinner. Any truth to the persistant rumor that Mr. Doody and Lamb Chop did some porn work together before they made it big? . . . Not sure why, but Lamb Chop irritated the hell out of me as a child. On the rare occasion when I couldn't get to the TV quick enough to shut it off before that cloying voice intruded upon my otherwise peaceful meditations, all I could think of was clamping its sweet woolly head in a sturdy vice. Honestly, I did not need the tsuris. Quote

Honestly, I did not need the tsuris. I had forgotten Lamb Chops voice. Probably I was blocking the memory because I hated her voice too. Couldn't switch the channel though 'cause we only got one station in my town. And turning off the TV wasn't an option in my family. Quote
