Glad it works! No, you can't block them unless you hit the X. But, I had them removed all of the tabs from the site (even the X). But, I can see in Firefox but can't in Safari or IE. Then again, I have bad eyesight! Quote

Guest Matrix Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 There are navigation links which can not be seen when viewing the forums. They are highlighted in yellow in the image below. They are useful tools (well at least to me) but if nobody knows they are there they won't benefit from them. Perhaps they could be made another color? Quote
Guest Matrix Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I told the programmers to remove these from the site completely today. I still see them. Does anyone else see them? I see tabs that say "thank you for visiting MER. You have just won an evening out (or in) with an escort of your choice on us!" But they don't indicate as how to redeem them. Assistance? Quote

Guest Matrix Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 There are navigation links which can not be seen when viewing the forums because they are too light in color. They are highlighted in yellow in the image below. They are useful tools (well at least to me) but if nobody knows they are there they won't benefit from them. Perhaps they could be made another color? Is this still a possibility? Quote
TotallyOz Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Is this still a possibility? I can't read what is in yellow. What does it say? Quote
Guest Matrix Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I can't read what is in yellow. What does it say? That's my point Oz. The yellow is only highlighting the area where there are already navigational links. However they are in almost the same color as the background color so you cant see them. They are : Back To Top forum Home Delete My Cookies Mark Board As Read But you can't see them because they are in the same color as the background color. I personally don't know how people are navigating back to the forums or threads after posting replys within the forums here. Unless everyone is just using their back button which would be maddening if that were the case. Quote

Guest Matrix Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 There's a better way? Who knew? If that's really what you're doing and going through to post then it certainly would be a reason to limit postings. Not only is it extremely illogical but over a short period of time it becomes draconian. Quote

Not only is it extremely illogical but over a short period of time it becomes draconian. Learned what little I know about navigating, posting strictly by trial & error. No instruction book, no coaching (other than the occasional bit of kindly advice from members of these boards). Not joking, really that's the way I learned. Click on this, see what happens. Click on that, see what else happens. Horribly frustrating when I would finally get my machine to do what I wanted it to do and then not be able to remember exactly what I had done to coax it to jump through a particular hoop. Once I figure out a magic formula that pursuades the computer to cough up the result I want, I tend to stick with it, even if it's a kludge. Since I know nothing whatsoever of the innards of the software, no particular proceedure seems any more illogical or arbitrary than any other. You would probably bust a gut laughing at how I get pictures to post. ---- However some methods seem easier to use than others. So what's the easy way to get back to a thread after hitting the 'add reply' button w/o using the IE's back button? Please remember clear detailed instructions are better for folks like me; leave out the simplest, most intuitive (to you) step & you will have lost me. Quote

Members lookin Posted September 11, 2010 Members Posted September 11, 2010 So what's the easy way to get back to a thread after hitting the 'add reply' button w/o using the IE's back button? After I hit "Add Reply", I usually scroll to the top of the screen and click one of the three tabs about halfway down: MaleEscortReview . . Main Category . . Lucky's Place 'Lucky's Place' to get back to the other threads in the forum 'Main Category' to see what's in the other forums 'MaleEscortReview' to get back to the site's main page Occasionally, I look outside to see the moon rising high above and figure I've posted enough for one day. But that's rare. Quote
Members MsGuy Posted September 11, 2010 Members Posted September 11, 2010 After I hit "Add Reply", I usually scroll to the top of the screen and click one of the three tabs about halfway down: How neat! I didn't even suspect they were buttons. But of course they are; why else would they be there? So easy! I'm gonna try them out this very minute. Many thanks, Lookin (see, I spell your name with a capital now, just like you wanted), you're my hero. Quote
Members lookin Posted September 11, 2010 Members Posted September 11, 2010 How neat! I didn't even suspect they were buttons. It took me a l-o-o-o-n-g time to discover they were clickable. I'd be embarrassed to tell you how I was getting around before finding that little trick. Quote
Members MsGuy Posted September 11, 2010 Members Posted September 11, 2010 Wow, it worked the first time I tried it. Thanks again, Lookin, and thanks to you too, Matrix, for bitching about it in the first place. I owe you both a big kiss: ---- I'd be embarrassed to tell you how I was getting around before finding that little trick. Pshaw, Lookin. You're my posting guru. I guess the one-eyed never understand how valuable a little guidance is to the blind. Quote
Guest Matrix Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Thanks again, Lookin, and thanks to you too, Matrix, for bitching about it in the first place. Hopefully my involvement in this thread has not been viewed as bitching. Although I suspect that it's probably a good possibility that it has been. Nobody likes a sloppy, laboriously challenging website that defies user friendly navigational tools. I was simply attempting to be helpful where I saw deficiency which presented personal frustration in my own use of this forum. That still has gone unremarked. Obviously, when a forum member lacks a broader understanding and a savvy of forum navigation tools which are generally commonplace in many more heavily trafficked forums on the web; they take for granted that the manner which they are using the tools which are available is the correct or the easiest way to participate - and that those tools which are offered are being utilized to their fullest ability to enhance the overall experience of the user. While log-in issues with the forums have been resolved with decent response - other issues remain which may or may not be viewed as important or necessary for Oz to address. Quote

I thought my request for clarification for the menu bar at the bottom would let you know that it was going to be worked on. But, it will not be over a weekend. The programmers have families, loved ones and other commitments. I put a note in to them to work on it. But, just in case I missed other issues, can someone list the ones I have not addressed? Quote
