Name 1 Thing New You Learned Today

Not everyone in the world has been through a McDonald's Drive In.

Yesterday, I was in Dubai and had to be outside the city for a bit and hired a driver for the day. He was good and spoke perfect English. I was late and needed to get back to my hotel and told him to go to McDonald's and asked him to go through the Drive Thru. He did but he did not stop at the speaker and tried to proceed to the window. I told him to go back and he did and we ordered. He was mesmerized by the talking speaker and kept asking if they could hear him. I bought him dinner as well. When we got our food, he seemed to really enjoy eating inside the car.

Along similar lines, I read the other day that every couple months Queen Elizabeth gets a hankering for a McDonald's burger and fries. So her driver takes her to one near the palace, they go through the drive-through, then like any of us she eats it while they drive around.

In a dumb race between the moderators and the candidates, it is difficult to know who won or lost.

The thrust of most questions seemed to be, "When did you quit beating your wife?"

Best regards,

I learned that apparently none of the top Republicans can name an historically important woman, all seem to think that wives/mothers/daughters are the only useful role for women in America.

Yeah, I suppose kinda new that already, but to have it blatantly demonstrated...

Very interesting. Could you tell us where you learned this? I would love to read more about it.

I've always wished i could see her eating corn-on-the-cob.

Corn on the cob! One could fairly easily envision her buck-toothed sister so doing!

I read that about her liking McD's in some UK online paper like the Independent or somewhere but can't find it now. When I Google for it, all that comes up is news that she owns or has part ownership in a McDonald's franchise near one of her properties. But that's a different story.

Perhaps the Groom of the Stool let something drop.

I learned that I miss Zipperzone here. So I looked up his question. In 2017 it was reported that the Queen actually owns a McDonald's franchise.

As for eating there, well, probably, but the video is comedy:

I learned that @AdamSmith was right all along, that the Constitution will stand, the Republic will go on, and we will survive all of this in spite of ourselves.

The Townhouse Where JFK and Jackie Met Is for Sale

(and it's seems, well...a bit underwhelming) Georgetown is wonderful,  don't get me wrong, but perhaps it's because we sometimes wrongly expect more from the Kennedy clan...
