PattayaMale Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Today I set out on South Pattaya Road to my bank to open a safe deposit box. I was amazed when they told me that they were all full and had been for 10 years. I went to a different bank that my Thai friend has his account and was told the same thing! Anyone in Pattaya know of a branch that has any available? Quote
Guest wowpow Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Why not think about installing one at home. There was a thread not that long ago - travelerjim? on a firm that sold and installed them presumably safety bolted into concrete. Not as safe as the bank perhaps but I think bank ones have always been in short supply - with the amount of black money coming into Thailand? Quote
Guest wowpow Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Found it see below. I also found a trail by Smiles looking for safety deposit boxes and no useful replies except that some banks have them but they are full. " travelerjim Sawatdee Friends, In recent weeks, I have searched for an electronic safe for my condo ... and I found a company which I can recommend to you. Pattaya Keys & Safes... 26/26 Moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi (Pattaya) located on Soi 16 - the soi "behind" the Thai elementary school on the corner of South Pattaya Road and Second Road. The store is opposite the rear/back side of the school. Telephone # Mobile:089-252-9830 or Office: 038-422-831 Services: Locksmith Household & Auto Keys Unlock Safe & Locker Safes for Sale The owner has 15 years experience with sales and servicing of locks and safes. He is also a member of the Pattaya City Rescue Team who are on call 24 hours day... to respond to emergencies and accidents...has special Emergency Rescue city truck and city response phone. He speaks very good English. I had several keys made by him. They worked perfectly :-) - that is more than I can say for WalMart in the USA :-( He has a wide selection of safes to choose from and provides free delivery, set up and installation if you want the safe bolted to the floor, wall or ??? He guarantees his safes for 6 months...if any problem he will take care. The electronic safe I chose was 2,900 baht - has a key opening backup if needed - and a little larger size than most found in hotel rooms...easy to use. I was pleased with his sales and service and recommend him to you. TJ Quote
PattayaMale Posted June 25, 2007 Author Posted June 25, 2007 Thanks for your effort and information wowpow. This may sound weird but the reason I was looking for one at a bank is that in case I am robbed while at home and am asked to open the safe...which I would do in a second..nothing would be there but condoms and lube Quote
2lz2p Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 There is a place in Jomtien Complex that sells small storage bins. I seem to recall that their sign out front also said they had safe deposit boxes to rent on a monthly basis (I don't recall how much, but seemed very high when compared to what banks in US charge). My recollection seems to be confirmed - when I did a google for Pattaya Safe Deposit boxes, the following was posted on a message board link -http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com/ : There is a safety deposit box, hire Company on the ground floor of the Jomtien Complex Condominium ,in Jomtien . Safety deposit box place on Soi Post Office Quote
