BiBottomBoy Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Asshole Baby Boomers still blame him for the war that JFK started. What about Lyndon B. Johnson- the last effectual president the US had, and the one who led the great civil rights reform? Quote
Members lookin Posted August 20, 2010 Members Posted August 20, 2010 Eleanor Roosevelt would easily make my list. Quote
Guest CharliePS Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 The original list should have been called "greatest political figures," not "greatest people," and even then I wouldn't agree with it (e.g., Jaures rather then Clemenceau?). A list that doesn't include a single artist, philosopher, scientist, inventor, entrepreneur or humanitarian is laughable as a list of the greatest people. Quote

Guest zipperzone Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 How does Einstein not make your list? Or Les Paul? He forgot to include Sarah Palin - or do they have to be dead? We could always fix that....... Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Palin is more helpful to the Dems alive than dead because she's a continuing reminder of what might have been. Quote

BiBottomBoy Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Yeah Restless, Be glad you live in the States because if you lived in Langedoc with George Freche running things it would drive you out of your fucking mind. That said, now that I know that Chairman Mao is one of the local government's heroes, the way the post office is run makes a certain amount of sense. It's a re-education camp! Or the guy that freaking cured polio. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 What about Jeff Stryker? I'd love to see a statue of him. I saw him in a play in NYC. I forget the name (help me those of you with good memory). But, he was unforgettable in the play (by those with good memory). Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Somehow I knew a porn star would pop up here eventually. Quote

So true, BUT remember things here in the States suck so bad too, everywhere and everything. From casino comps to night clubs, totally sucks. I'm hopeful BBB and lookin that someday I can really be nice to you. It will take some time and logistics, after all this is a meaningless post, right, no one will see it but you. So I posted anyway. I plan on something extravagant, and don't put me past a Frenchman, yes....(These are not my words.) "Louis Pasteur? He made grand contributions that touch each of our lives everyday and probably he is one of the reasons we as given indivuals are here today? Maybe not the greatest, but he is French and great. Oh Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) If one were to choose among the greatest benefactors of humanity, Louis Pasteur would certainly rank at the top. He solved the mysteries of rabies, anthrax, chicken cholera, and silkworm diseases, and contributed to the development of the first vaccines. He debunked the widely accepted myth of spontaneous generation, thereby setting the stage for modern biology and biochemistry. He described the scientific basis for fermentation, wine-making, and the brewing of beer. Pasteur's work gave birth to many branches of science, and he was singlehandedly responsible for some of the most important theoretical concepts and practical applications of modern science... http://www.accessexc...uis_Pasteur.php I'm just sayin' , he's French and great. There was also that guy who invented puff pastries... name slips my mind. Simply great though. Guess I wasn't reading the original post very closely. No matter " Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 What do you have against casino comps? Quote
Guest twinklover Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Nothing whatsoever, my point is they (casino comps) are getting "chincier" and "chincier", and more minimal every day. Do you understand? Do not waste my time again or I'll take back any kind words about the French, including people who happen to live in that hell-hole. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Why are you being such an asshole? Quote
