My definition of twink

For me, this foto of Chris Atkins embodies the Platonic ideal of twink.

I have been straining my few remaining brain cells through a fine mesh but am unable to recall which magazine first ran this pic. Happily, I do still recall whacking myself dry "reading" the article.

For the young-uns here, Chris starred in "The Blue Lagoon" and a number of other terrible movies. He never did learn to act worth a damn, which only goes to show that pretty really does count.

Edit: I just noticed the crease across Chris's chest, which reminded me that he was the centerfold of that issue. Maybe it was one of those Teen Beat type mags.

It's from Playgirl, September 1982. I remember working up enough nerve to buy it at a convenience store in my small town. I was only 18 at the time; surprised I didn't get carded.

Don't forget the movie, One Night In Heaven, with Leslie Ann Warren with the penis shot. Only in researching this post did I learn that 'shot' was unintentional on the part of the Director.

When Chris signed on to play Rick Monroe, there was no actual nudity written in the movie (aside from scenes in the male stripclub). In one scene where Warren and Atkins' characters have sex, she rubs his crotch and pulls his pants down and then the camera is supposed to move away, but that day, Chris was not wearing any underwear and his slightly aroused penis popped out accidentally. It was only when the director sat down to edit that day's work that he noticed this. He thought it might add a new dimension to the scene and really show off the intimacy between the two lead characters and decided to keep it. Atkins was not informed about this, and he came to know only when he watched the pre-release, but nothing could be done at that time as the movie prints had already been distributed to the theatres.

One Night In Heaven, I had forgotten it. God-awful acting and plot but the ending was kinky as hell and weirdly erotic:

"[vengeful husband] kidnaps Rick [Atkins] at gunpoint; he takes Rick to a boat at a small dock and forces him to strip. Rick, sobbing, complies. Whitney threatens Rick repeatedly but in the end only shoots holes in the boat, leaving a naked Rick aboard as it sinks."
