The New Dynamite and Happy Club in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

The scene in Pattaya changes faster than the seasons change. Bars come and go like lightening. One week, a bar has a great group of boys and the next week, it is dead.

There are a few staples of fine gogo entertainment in Pattaya. IMHO Funny Boys is the best run place in town. Great mamasan. Great dancers. Beautiful Staff. Soft Music. Clean Bathrooms. The place is run with class.

Tonight, my friend Firecat and I wandered into several other places. One was the New Dynamite. This place has gone up and down but with more than 30 boys there tonight, it is defiantly on an uphill spiral. There were several cute guys and the drinks are reasonable.

We then walked by one bar and met 2 guys we have known for years. They are both in their late 20's and VERY sexy. We were just talking about them yesterday as no one has seen them in years. There they were. Standing outside Happy (former Bubbles). They were delighted to see us and we were thrilled to see them. We had them both in for drinks and a chat.

One of these boys almost stole my heart a few years back as he was perfect for me in EVERY way except his lack of English and his wife. The wife is now gone and his English is much improved. He is a charmer. Sexually, one of my top 10 on the planet.

You never know what charmers you will meet on a stroll in BoyzTown in Pattaya. For those of you not acquainted with the area, you must visit. There is no place on earth like it!

One caution- the guys in Pattaya are young. So if you like men, this might be a short stop for you.

Totally incorrect. If you are in Sunee Plaza, the guys are young. There is only one of MANY gay areas. If you go to Boyztown, they are not young and I think the average age of one muscle bar there is about 30 up. If you use GayRomeo, you will get every age just like you do in Bangkok, Rio, LA, etc.

Pattaya is not a place for young boys. That is a misconception. Sure, they are there if you want them and maybe there are more bars that cater to this clientele. However, they are also in every other city I know of if you want them and know where to look. I remember back to my first trip in Rio and meeting a guy that was bragging about picking up the young street kids. I left the table at Corijunha's and never spoke to him again.

My first long term date in Pattaya was with a 19 year old in Bangkok. He said he was 19. A few days later, he admitted he lied and was actually 22. I laughed and said no problem. We checked into the Marriott in Pattaya and they made a copy of his ID. When he wasn't around, I went back and asked his real age. They said 29. Once again I laughed. This was about 7 - 8 years ago. I still see him from time to time and when I ask his age, he says, "19". He looks it. But, I know he is now in his mid 30s.

Pattaya has gotten a bad reputation over the years. I will not say it was not deserved. But, it is cleaned up drastically. If you come for a trip to Thailand and I am here, let me show you the real part of Pattaya which is not a young scene at all but older guys, discos, after hours clubs, Internet dates, etc.

Lucky, I have always respected your perspective on all subjects. But, on this one, you are wrong. Sorry.

I am in complete agreement with OZ.. Young is available anywhere and not more so in Thailand. We all wish we could be 32 and look 19 but the Thais do it all the time.

Sounds like he's aging at the same rate I am!

Something I've never really understood is when people lie about their age, they almost always say they are younger than their actual age. Why? I would think it would make more sense to do just the opposite. If someone is 50 years old, but says he's 40, my first thought would be he looks like shit for somebody 40 years old. On the other hand, if he said he was 60, my first thought would be damn! For a 60 year old he looks great!

Well what are you saying, Oz? That I lied? I wrote of my experience in Pattaya, and I have been there 13 times. On the last visit, the boys were the youngest I had seen in any of those visits. You might have just said that your experience has been different than mine rather than say I am totally incorrect. I also have the suspicion that what I define as young you do not so define.

No, I was not saying you lied. I was under the impression you had not been in the last year. If I was wrong, then I do apologize.

If my impression was right, then things have changed a great deal in the last year. I would have agreed with your assessment a few years ago. In fact, my first visit to Pattaya, I was disgusted. I just happen to meet a boy in Bangkok that was from Pattaya and he was my BF for a few years and I moved to Pattaya for him. I got to know a different side of Pattaya living here for as long as I have.

Our definitions may be different. I define young by someone under 18. By my definition, there are few in Pattaya gogo bars under that age. If you go to Sunee, you will now find only one bar with those under that age and they are few and far between. The police have clamped down a great deal and for those of us that love Pattaya, we are happy that the underage scene is being cleaned up.

There is under 18 and then there is the under-18 look. Pattaya specializes in the latter, if not the former. I have seen underage kids, on the beach, and on the main road. They did clean the beach up as it was a mindfuck to see a 7 year old on an old man's lap asking him to fuck him. I had an 8 year old try to pick me up on the main drag- to go to my bungalow for sex. I was so shocked I couldn't get away fast enough. I went to a bar in Sunnee Plaza and saw a heavy set man around 70 making out with a kid around nine years old. That was 2 years ago and it got me to leave Pattaya a day early.

I found one guy with any muscle on him, and he was a dud in bed. So, my experience with Pattaya declined from the late 80s and early 90s when I really liked the place.

If it is better now, well, please send me a ticket. I'll join you right away!

Airfares to Thailand are so much higher now I doubt that I will go back.

I do understand your reaction. I have never seen what you describe. I stayed at the Marriott and never had anything close to that seen anywhere I have been and I would have been disgusted as well.

2 years is a long time and from my experience the city is MUCH cleaned up at this point. That does not mean it will stay that way. But, it is now catering to family tourists and the things you mention, I don't see. The new mall is the largest mall on any ocean front property in Asia. A new Holiday Inn. A new Hilton this year. A new Sheraton. The list can go on. With all those places now calling Pattaya home, there is little of the old Pattaya you experienced left. As I said, I don't discount what you saw. I simply say I don't see it now.

Lucky,

What you describe happens in every country in the world. Why use it to color peoples thoughts on a whole country. Would you like the police reports read from your city all over the world on pedophiles arrested and jailed for rape etc.. It happens everywhere and anyone who doesn't realize that , either has a closed mind or has not travelled enough in the world to understand what goes on.

What you say seems more to be colored by your dislike for young looking boys with slim bodies who may even be on the feminine side. You are entitled not to like a place because the available men are not to your taste but you should not take that prejudice to color the overall scene. I can show you many boys that you would probably think are 12 or 13 and they are 25. I saw a wonderful boy in Bangkok for 2 years . I thought he was 19 or 20 and then one day looked at his passport. He was 34!!!!!!

It would appear you probably love the men of Brazil being much more masculine and muscular for the most apart. Everything you said you saw in Pattaya you can see in Brazil if you are looking. In fact you can see it in Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Dallas ete etc etc.

Don't punish the boys in Thailand because they are "lucky "enough to appear much younger then their age. I dare say you would love to have people think you are 10 or 15 years younger then you are!!!!

By the way you also better check your travel rates. Los Angeles to Bangkok for under $1000 at certain times. an 8500 mile trip when it cost $600 to fly across the country of 2300 miles.

I dare say on average airfares have never been cheaper to Asia

Evidently you need a better travel agent!!!!

To me, being attracted to an 18 year old who looks 12 isn't much different from just being attracted to the 12 year old. Sorry.

So now you choose to be intellectually dishonest. Since you can't refute anything I said, you instead cast aspersions about someone you have no knowledge of. There was nothing in my post that intimated that I liked boys who look like they were very young. In fact the only boy I mentioned that was of interest to me was someone who I thought was 19 or 20. There was no mention of anyone being attracted to boys who look like they were 12. It was used only as a description of how much younger Thais look then they are.

Now that I see how judge mental you are and one sided in your debate , I can't wait for Lucky"s Place to disappear.

I actually considered your posts on this thread to be ridiculous , but I chose to have a debate on the merits. You actually rail on your supposed abuses that happen in Thailand and all the things that sickened you!!! Then in the same debate say you made 13 trips there. I guess you really liked all those skinny young boys because by your own admission there was nothing else available.

Terrible when you hate your self!!!!!

This is very true if you fly coach. If you are like me and want a business class ticket, the prices keep going on. The last rate I paid with Delta was 3,000 for a full coach fare that I could use a certificate to upgrade to Business. This is my preferred way to travel and I use to get this same ticket for about 1700. It keeps going on. The highest I have paid is 3700. That rate caused me to check on the LA to Bangkok non stop from Thai Airways which is fantastic. I love the plane and the no stops. The Premium Economy is only a few hundred more than the coach and totally worth it.

To me, being attracted to an 18 year old who looks 12 isn't much different from just being attracted to the 12 year old. Sorry.

I don't think anyone in this tread said someone was attracted to anyone who looks 12. I think Firecat was stating that Thais look younger than they are. My boyfriend of many years looks the same today as when I met him. He has not aged at all. I do not find anything wrong with someone liking the looks of a twink or an 18 year old. The test is if they are or should be comfortable walking down the street with someone. All of my BF experiences in Thailand have passed that test over and over. None of them look underage. All are over 18 with ID's to match. I also would never take anyone from a bar that I did not feel comfortable walking down the street with. I know that is not the case for everyone.

Again, I think your opinion is just that. I disagree with it. I do not see Pattaya as the city you think it is. I don't see the young boys that you did. I have not had your experiences with these people. And, likewise, you have not had mine. In both case, we seem to both stand by what we believe. I still say that Pattaya is not a haven for people who like under 12 year olds. I have NEVER seen that. I have seen 16 and 17 year old in the past. But, that is not the scene you were describing. And, of recent dates, I have not see those ages in the bars or on the streets.

I will not argue with you. You have your thoughts about Pattaya. I appreciate your perspective. I just don't agree with it (at least for the past year).

There was nothing in my post that intimated that I liked boys who look like they were very young.

I don't think he was directing that at you as much as to most that travels to Pattaya. Having known Firecat for a long time, I can say without hesitation that his tastes are for those in the 20's.

My apologies, firecat. I had no intent to comment on your tastes or interests. I got on the defensive when Oz' response was that my observations were totally incorrect. My experience was what it was-that I did see more young guys than I wanted to see. But what I left out is that of course I found guys to like- as you point out, why else go 13 times? The Thai smile can win me over as much as the next guy. I met many collegiate types, especially in my earlier visits.

My partner looks a lot younger than he is, so I know well of what you speak. There are two separate issues here, and we got off on the wrong one. Sorry about that.

Nice that we can come to an understanding even when tempers flare. We and other posters should always keep that in mind when having discussions that we feel very strong about.
