Jeez I get slammed at work and come back to this big change! Way to go, Lucky. Maybe one day I'll have a forum named after me... :P

Wow!

So Lucky get's Banned (Timed out probably for months) from posting over at Daddy's forums - comes here, starts posting and suddenly gets a forum named after him?

I'm sure most will disagree, buts that's really a slap in the face to those small numbers of people who did post over here for years when Lucky really couldn't have been bothered - as he was so engulfed in self adoration over there.

Cashing in is one thing - selling out is quite another.

No selling out. We appreciate all who have participated over the years. ALL of you! We thought this was an appropriate gesture for someone who came onto the site with such a bang. It is not a slap in the face to anyone or it was not intended to be. I feel very sad in my heart that you think it was aimed to hurt you. I really do. I apologize to you if your feelings were hurt. It was not my intent.

Let us all try to get along! The site is moving along nicely and in a Gentlemanly way. I think it is important to single out members that stand out from time to time. Lucky has been great with the challenge. I could name SEVERAL others who keep the site going, who participate regularly and post amazing photos of places around the world and great photos of guys they have met.

No site continues with just one or two people. It is a collective effort. Please keep posting and be a part of the solution to helping this site grow.

Perhaps it would have been a nice gesture to have done so then - Considering this unprecedented move of renaming a forum in honor of just one single poster.

I'm happy this site has taken off (again) and hope it continues to prosper. This, for me, however, just seemed way over the top and at the expense of other posters value to the site.

But I understand.

I think it was intended as a very nice gesture to thank an individual who helped give the forum here a little "shot in the arm".. not as an insult to anyone else. But I have what I think might be a happy compromise. How about it remains Lucky's Place for a full month (or actually month and a half-till the end of September). Then it rotates on a monthly basis to "restless' place, or adamsmith's place, or matrix' place, based upon who had the most posts for the month just completed. In my opinion, it would be a nice gesture which would help (hopefully) to encourage people to continue posting.. Just my two cents worth....

Well, I was really surprised this morning when a very cute escort came to my door, stripped naked, and announced that I had 3 choices. I could get fucked by him, I could fuck him, or I could have the Pub renamed for me. Well, of course I quickly sent him on his way.

As Oz points out, this is a temporary honor. The forum is indeed a collective effort and we all need each other to make it a pleasant place to be. I am glad that matrix saw fit to post, we need him too. Soon the forum will carry someone else's name, and I will be happy to support that person as well.

And this is the difference between the forum here and the "other place".. Here you get a nice response thanking you for your input and explaining that you are wanted and needed.. Over there the response (if any was received from Deej or Daddy) would be something along the lines of "its my playground and I can do as I please"

Did you happen to notice which way he went?

PS: Congrats on the well-deserved honor!

I personally think that LUCKY is a super guy no matter which site he is on. He always comes accross to me as genuine warm hearted and balanced person and we need more of that here. We are LUCKY to have LUCKY HUGS Chuck

Not to wrap ourselves completely in cotton candy, but still: One of the best things about this site, and something we have all remarked on since its inception, has been the feeling of personal welcome extended by management to all of us who try and contribute. (Not to mention management's respect for contributors, something not always abundantly evident elsewhere.)

In this instance, I'm grateful for Lucky's efforts to keep things lively here. I think what OZ and TY did to acknowledge that is neat.

btw I give huge thumbs up to OZ and TY for their playful and very supportive roles of the members on their site. You know its almost as if they care .. well actually you can tell they do! I cannot think of other sites that take such actions.

You are correct, no insult was intended to anyone else. Had we desired that it would have been only fair to name names.

I do disagree with the assessment little "shot in the arm". .

Lurkerpseaks, let me use this response to your post to reply to broader comments...

Bluntly, it had gotten pretty comatose over here this last year. Participation had fallen off, even among the 'regulars'. A fair reading of the activity could reach no other conclusion.

Lucky brought his great enthusiasm, his participation, and more, his personal relationship with others to urge participation on this site. Anyone could have done so but Lucky was the one who did. It is unclear that anyone would have achieved the same success. His effort has borne fruit. Unquestionably, he has done much, much more than anyone else including 'other regulars' to breathe life to this site of late.

For those who appreciate the activity on this message board as an alternative to other sites with their policies, I would think they also would be appreciative of Lucky's efforts because those efforts are directly responsible for making this a vibrant alternative. Anyone else could have invested enthusiasm, effort and personal relationships in an attempt to pump life into the forums. Lucky was the one who stepped up.

I see no need to apologize for this recognition as our way to say thanks for his effort. I do not feel that we have slighted anyone else. We appreciate all posters -- the usual regulars, the newbie, and the occasional contributor. I don't feel the need to rename a forum as a 'Poster of the Month' recognition award to cycle through the regulars to appreciate particpation. Should this particular honor ever be bestowed again it will be for some extraordinary contribution to the forums just as this was.

I have had my differences with Lucky in the past and I expect we'll have our differences in the future. I don't let past personal differences color my view of his supportive enthusiasm and activity. I do not understand the zero sum mentality that if someone is lauded for the extraordinary effort others are getting slapped in the face.

Lucky is honored for his recent extraordinary efforts, not for being a 'special' regular or occasional poster.

P.S. It is good to see that Lucky remains the lightening rod I have known him to be over the last decade -- that can generate as many posts indirectly has he contributes directly. Truly a double barreled contributor.

I didn't know Charlie could sing!

It's odd to click on "Lucky's Place." But I appreciate the support registered here. Now the Challenge continues, to post and make the forum a big success.

Now that this is Lucky's Place you are responsible for tea and biscuits -- the English type not buttemilk. "Announcing High Tea at Lucky's every afternoon at 4:00 PM till..." :P
