TotallyOz Posted August 5, 2010 Share Posted August 5, 2010 We have added a new feature to the site. This is on the Escorts Profiles. It is a Known to Be Legit. This tells others that you have met them and their photos are real. It is not a review of an escort but simply that the escorts description and photos match the person you have met. For example, if Townie host a Hamburger Mary's party when I get back to LA and several escorts show up and you chat with them, you can rate them from your conversations with them. Do their photos match the description? Is the profile accurate? In order for members to use this feature, they must have at least ONE PUBLISHED review. This tells us that the person doing the rating is also legit. Check out any Escort Profile to see the ability to rate. Also, check out the Most Rates Members in the Search Area of the site. These update hourly and escorts who are rated often will get stars. They are: 1 Star – (Known to be Legit) Known by at least 5 Reviewers 2 Stars – (Gets Around) Known by at least 10 regular Reviewers 3 Stars – (True Professional) Known by at least 20 Reviewers 4 Stars (Popular and Reliable)– Known by at least 25 Reviewers 5 Stars (100 percent Prime Time Escort) – Known by at least 35 Reviews This has taken us a while to implement on the site and we hope you enjoy this additional feature. I could rate several from 5 years ago that were great and looked as good as or better than their pictures then... but I don't think that would be useful (especially if they're still using the same photos!). It took me only about an hour to go through all the profiles and do my part in providing a basic "legit" rating. The key is the escort should be personally known to you, not just through hearsay or the reviews and ravings of others. There are many escorts I have seen who do not get reviewed by me, often because their prior reviews already reflect what an outstanding escort they are. Examples are Trey Thurston, AaronMark and Ryunosuke whom I have seen repeatedly and never given a formal review. It's very easy to click on the escort's profile and provide this rating on the left side. I encourage all qualified members to do so (you must have at least one review here). It's very useful. I think this gives MER an opportunity to contact all profiled escorts to encourage them to update their profiles and notify them of the new rating feature. Legitimate escorts will appreciate this. It may cut back on the tens of questions and all the uncertainties that go on in hiring. With new members and activity on this site, I also hope members will encourage escorts they know or contact to PUT THEIR PROFILES up on MER. I think it's free for an escort to do so (right?)--no downside and potentially lots of upside. More escorts need to be aware of this site. I am going to really push this with the guys I know, escorts and patrons. Going through the alphabetical list of escorts also reminded me of some very interesting profiles that I need to follow up on. It was a very beneficial exercise. Thank You, Oz and TY. Even when the escort is personally known by the reviewer, the review is still likely to be subjective. What one person just loves could easily be what another person detests. I would use reviews as a tool, but not something I would rely on. Reviews may help to narrow down the list of escorts I would consider hiring, but the true accuracy of the review will still depend on my own experience. I also think that bi-bottom questions was a good one. I believe one way to keep the rankings current might be to have your web team set the rating to expire after a time frame. maybe after 12 or 18 months. That way two goals can be accomplished. First most escorts will probably look like their pictures within a 12 to 18 month time frame. Finally if the ranking expires on a time based metric then they will always be current to that time frame whether you set it at 12 months 18 months or some other period of time you want it to be valid for. The best way to give back to the site is to participate in the forums and post reviews. We are a review site. We thrive on getting good reviews. I think this gives MER an opportunity to contact all profiled escorts to encourage them to update their profiles and notify them of the new rating feature. Legitimate escorts will appreciate this. Once that is done, we will send out a mass e-mail about it and the Known to Be Legit. We try to limit the number of e-mails we send to one every few months. But, I agree this is important to do. I had no idea this feature existed, so I guess it was a good idea to resurrect it. On the other hand, after one year you should know if the feature has been a successful as hoped...has it? BTW- Having met Oz, I can say that he is completely legit! I've met several other posters too. Should I verify that they are completely legit?
