Guest NYTomcat Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Just Gotta say, I love the sense of class. Hooboy as Dietrich and Oz as Garland. I think My avatar here needs to change ... following such a tradition.. I just cant decide. Bergman, Garbo, Kelly, Crawford, hell even Newmar, Any other better ideas. I want to make this one that sticks... Since Im starting from scratch again here Quote

Lucky to post a pic you need to put the web address in the insert image box. Its two to the right of the smile face on the toolbar above the text box. It works even forscary images Quote

That pic is a perfect representation of her. Quote

Members Buddy2 Posted July 29, 2010 Members Posted July 29, 2010 Just Gotta say, I love the sense of class. Hooboy as Dietrich and Oz as Garland. I would reverse it. Hooboy as Garland and Oz as Dietrich. I am old enough to remember both ladies when they were alive. Dietrich was the perfect example of German efficiency, not at all like Hooboy. Hooboy was a great person, but his life, as detailed on his site, was one drama after another. I particularly remember a day-long attempt by Hooboy to post escort reviews on a Thursday (Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S.) from London. Hooboy posted almost hourly with the latest problem. Quote
Guest restless Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Truly a classic. Thanks Oz Im just not sure I have the venom to pull her off.... Now lucky on the other hand... im sure this could work for you Ha, definitely Crawford. If you don't take it, I might. Quote
Guest Klair Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I told you! No wire hangers! Something that always puzzled me about that movie (and I also read the book) - If St. Joan disliked wire hangers so much, then why did she even have any in her house? Quote

Guest NYTomcat Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Ha, definitely Crawford. If you don't take it, I might. Ok I definately love crawford. But I may let you have her. I can be venemous enough but I never really got a sense of wit from her. Tell me what you think of this option. I think this may be a no brainer for me Quote

Hey guys. It's been awhile. Hoo's life was not a constant drama. It was simply what he chose to show the board within the image he created as 'Hooboy.' Personally, he was a quiet, intelligent and very cunning individual who understood that in order to draw people in (and keep them there), you had to constantly be aware of the show you were putting on. Hoo was in many forms an entertainer. Just wanted to clear that up a little. The majority of the drama laid and still lies (ahem) in the message center. That was a portion of the site he had very little to do with... Even less so as time went on. BN Quote

Nice to see you posting, Benjamin! Thanks Lucky. I'm dipping my foot back into this particular pool... Staying in the shallow end for now Hoo taught many of us some very important things- HB's whole life was literally one kind of show or another. He understood what being 'on' really meant. To get to hear him wax poetic about his views on how a top escort should do business was fantastic for a beginner escort just starting off. We always joked that eventually we'd open an 'escort etiquette' finishing school. Good memories indeed. BN Quote

He was totally unique and fabulous. Thanks for bring back some of those memories guys! Quote
Members lookin Posted July 31, 2010 Members Posted July 31, 2010 I think this may be a no brainer for me I don't think La Russell ever took a bad picture. I personally favor the more 'dramatic' ones, but all your choices are inspired! One of the snags with avatars though is how small they are. You may have to experiment to find one that reads well. A few more for your consideration: Quote

Thanks for bring back some of those memories guys! Everyone I ever met who knew HooBoy liked him. I never had the good fortune to meet him, or even communicated with HooBoy by e-mail. Now I have to get more serious. I was concerned (as were others who read and/or posted in the forum) about HooBoy during the last months of his life -- again even though I did not know him beyond the forum. He presented himself as a person with health problems who traveled constantly, but had little respect/interest in doctors or medical insurance. It's been a while, so I am not sure that I have it 100% correct, but it's pretty close I think. Was that drama as well? Did he take better care of himself that his postings in the forum would indicate? Quote

He was in great spirit in a Presidential Suite in a fabulous hotel with the boy he loved. He had problems which he did not have looked after. Guest NYTomcat Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Forgive my delay in finishing and getting back here to truly start posting. Yes I missed the august challenge but I hope to do better in September. Life got a bit in my way. So this married cheater is now a seperating gay man... yeah came out of the closet.. long story... many of you know anyway. So after not thinking I had the venom to carry off crawford... Ive recently been charged with being the great take over artist running the great gay escort hiring mafia. So Ive chosen my avatar to fit. Keeping with my desire for a hollywood diva... and loving Totally Oz's choice. I think this works for now. Hopefully in time you'll get to know me more as Wicked's elphaba rather than Maggie Hamilton. But I do so love Ms. Hamiltons sense of drama and style. Scaring a generation or two or three.. or more So tongue proverbially in cheek I think I have finally found my persona here for now. But thanks for all the great options and Im still not passing on crawford or russell for the long run Quote
