Members Lucky Posted July 26, 2010 Members Posted July 26, 2010 The forum at Daddy's Review is now open. I wonder how many people, offended at the high-handed way that they have been treated, will stay away from there for forever or a period of time. I know, that I,for one, will stay away. The lack of respect Daddy has for his own members is legendary. He doesn't think much more of his visitors or suppliers nor much more of his moderators. Until a change can be made in the leadership of that Forum that will revamp the whole place, and will show an interest in what the posters are actually saying and doing, I Cannot return. Oz, please buy the site as quickly as possible! Quote

I am sure they will miss you (even though Daddy probably doesn't realize what a stupid move he is making). However, you are always welcome here. We have always had a difference of opinion on many issues, but I have always respected your right to speak your mind. I hope you stay around here and play as long as you wish. I can't be your Daddy. But, I am most happy to debate you on any subject. Quote

The retard, which calls itself "daddy" could have posted a notice on his board stating that the site was closing for an upgrade to the software, but he chose not to do so. You know, of course, that is the reason the site was closed (software upgrade). Instead of informing site members of the true reason for the closing, the moron, posted a condescending notice. Among other things, the retard said in his notice that he was "cranky" and that members come and go while only moderators are of importance, or words to that effect. Should we be angry at his behavior? Or, should we just consider that he is simply dumb and does not know how to treat people? Unquestionably, if Hooboy were still around, he would not be proud of the way the "daddy" character has taken over the site. . Quote
caeron Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Forum software should take no more than a few hours to update. Trying to pass off the 'vacation' as an upgrade is bogus. Quote

Oz, please buy the site as quickly as possible! Until now I have had no interest in commenting on the latest drama over there. Nothing new about it and I had commented in previous instances with anything I had to say. However, your comment stirs me to respond. Daddy NEVER cared about the MC... NEVER until possibly he found a way to raise money from its members. Still he treats those as he always had -- with patronizing comtempt and the back of his hand. He ALWAYS felt it a major nuisance and recurring source of trouble. That is why he left the MC to deej and Barry and Cooper. Daddy never was an enthusiastic poster or moderator. Daddy ALWAYS wanted the reviews which drove the overall site stats and adverstising money. He hoped to cash in on the boon that HooBoy had cultivated. IMO he doesn't care about reviews beyond the fact that they drive traffic, or that some favor his chosen escorts, at least in the past when I followed the site. He has treated reviews and reviewers with contempt time and time again. Many questionable reviews get posted over there with the philosophy: let the readers sort then out. Of course the readers don't have all the tools that the site admin has to make many of those calls. He does care about the site income, a few favored escorts, and people that make his life easier -- moderators. He tolerates only those who share or accept his world view. That seems to be enough for most of his traffic. Finally, it is only wishful thinking to hope for Oz to save that site. Although Oz has tried to buy that site and would love to have it for sentimental as well as business reasons, I don't believe Daddy would sell it to him at any price. Should a sale ever materialize look for it to go one of the other escort sites. Bottom line: move to another site or continue to put up with Daddy's bullshit... or make Daddy an offer yourself. Put differently, if you want change then be proactive about it. That is the only way it is likely to occurr. Quote
Members seattlebottom Posted July 26, 2010 Members Posted July 26, 2010 I tried logging in and couldn't. For some reason it really doesn't bother me, I may stay away from there for a while or forever. Quote

I agree, in the past he posted a notice when a software upgrade would take place. However, this time he did not post about an upgrade. Instead, he posted a nasty notice about his being cranky and was taking a vacation. This is very poor "PR" at its highest point. . Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Why would anyone go back to a site that treated you like shit? That's like battered woman syndrome. Quote

I made that observation during the previous eruption. Worse, on a mass scale. Sort of like Jonestown without the Kool Aid. The vast majority were/are willing particpants. Go figure. Some kind of weird group psychopathy. Quote
Members flguy Posted July 26, 2010 Members Posted July 26, 2010 MVAN, If you read the note Daddy posted about the closure and then scrolled down the notice there was a sentance at the bottom of the page that said they were upgrading to a new version. I didn't see it for a couple of days until I actually looked further down. That's not why,in my opinion, he closed the forum however it was stated down at the bottom. Quote

This was only put onto the site in the last day or two. It was not there before that time. I used my little Evernote program a few days ago and it made a copy of that page. There was no upgrade mention on that page. Of that, I am 100 percent sure. It was my guess when I saw the revised Upgrade Sign that a new "story" would come as to the reason behind the closure. I am still waiting for the Fisherman's tale. Perhaps, it will include a link to the Donate Page. Quote

Members Lucky Posted July 26, 2010 Author Members Posted July 26, 2010 On July 16th (before the shutdown), I informed Daddy that I was leaving the site following a serious difference of opinion with him. He has, in fact, removed my name from the community roster, but is having his little joke by placing "Time-Out" on all of the posts I have written. LOL It's a shame that after 10 years and almost 12,000 posts that I have to leave Hooville because of Daddy. I visited him in Seattle and twice invited him to the Palm Springs Hooville Weekend so he could get to know the posters. We learned then that "thank-you" was something that did not come naturally to him, so I guess that I am not so surprised. And to think all he had to do was honor my request not to be a monitor. Admin Note: First names were removed as it is against policy. They were replaced with a Monkier. All other information is the same. Quote

Would you expect any better treatment from that unappreciative and loathsome moron? Maybe if you had offered to pay his trip expenses he would have accepted your invitation. That way, he could ask for more money from the other posters he would meet at while in Palm Springs. . Quote

It did not have the forum tag line under it or even the same background. On another note I find the look of the new mc over there as really ugly but then I find the soul of the people who run it as being really ugly as well. Quote

I don't know what this means and from the tenor I don't want to know, I think. IMO Daddy isn't going anywhere on purpose. It is his site and he is free to run it as he sees fit. That is just what he does. Certainly, much of his traffic base, seems accepting of that. That has been demonstrated several times. Quote

I am amazed by the number of new people that have joined Daddy/Deej's forum in the last few years. For better or worse, as long as that site can put up four, five or six new escort reviews every day their forum will continue to flourish. Quote

My guess is, based on new handles with very few posts, that they're having to invent interested parties to post. Now, I don't need to go back for a few more yeras. Quote
Guest zipperzone Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 For what it's worth.......... I had not logged onto the site for several months until last week when I saw the petulant notice from the old fart himself. His arrogance has always pissed me off and frankly I think he acts like a prima dona having her period. But even worse than daddy is his sidekick deej......... Now there's a mental case if ever there was one. He is drunk with the power he thinks he has. IMO he is the main reason people leave the forums. Remember the day not too long ago when daddy was supposedly broke, facing bankruptcy and begging for financial help? Good luck with that one, daddy-o. Quote

LOL WOW That seems pretty childish of him to do that. While I do not agree with many things you post and we def have had our differences I think that is really him being completely disrespectful of you and your contributions over the years. It speaks volumes and reinforces what TY wrote above on the contempt he has for the people that keep that site alive. Well I am glad you decided to hang out here Lucky. Quote

I'm guessing that amid the barrage of invective aimed from all sides at Daddy and all his works, your break with the site that you invested so much of yourself in is leaving you with a great sense of personal grievance, especially given the circumstances. My wish for you is that with luck, time and the openness to you of MER will work fast to get you over it. Quote
