TotallyOz
Hello all. Stef worked very hard to get the ban lifted inside Thailand. We are not going to let all his hard work go to waste. We will be more careful in what photos are posted on the site and delete any questionable images. One of the first posts today was a post which contained a link to a porn site. This is not the type of site material we want. We have said all along that we want the site to be an informational guide. Inappropriate posts will be deleted and the poster will be banned. Sorry guys, but that is the way it will be. Bitch, moan, and complain all you want. We will not let a few guys who have an agenda to cause problems for the rest. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. The GayThailand.com Team
Gaybutton
I second the motion. I learned the hard way that no matter what you do, there will always be a few people who think they can post anything they want and couldn't care less if they are causing problems for everyone else. I don't know of any gay Thailand boards that have not experienced problem posters and ended up eventually being forced to remove posts. It comes as no surprise to me that almost as soon as you were able to get the block lifted, a problem poster shows up and tries to cause further problems. Every board has always started with the idea that there will be no censorship. It would be wonderful if it worked that way, but it simply does not. There are abusers out there and they seem hell bent to cause problems whenever the opportunity arises. Then they start screaming when they find their posts deleted and themselves banned. I don't understand why some people get off on intentionally causing problems, but obviously some do. It's sad, but that's the way it is. There are only two people who can control a board. The moderator or the problem poster. I'll take the moderator. The problem posters never seem to want to start a board of their own. They just seem to want to cause problems on boards owned by others. Guest catawampuscat
Posters with the own agendas are the curse of open forums and cause great harm if allowed to push their agendas without being checked.. Owners of businesses are not above slandering their competitors and causing havoc.. Personal attacks using real names or making false accusations are fair game for those who abuse forums... I am pleased to have this site back unbanned and easy to use.. I am also glad to see more moderators added and the more eyes the better.. The evol buggers among us will still try to push their own agendas but I am hopeful this will be stopped quickly and maybe we won't have to read any more attacks on Niddys from the same old dead horse kickers or more Hedda bashing from the obsessed bores who live on their hatred.. And please, when that foul character from down under appears and the trolls will come soon, cut him quick as he thrives on attention and spoils every thread he authors or enters.. just my opinion and I am optimistic for the future of this forum .... We have said all along that we want the site to be an informational guide. I believe they did something similar to Gaybutton's site three or four years ago. If I remember correctly, GB's site was at that time hosted on a free server that did not tolerate pornography. Knowing this, the saboteurs posted 'live' sexual images on the discussion forum and then promptly had them reported to the free server provider who would then shut GB's site down. This went on for a while until GB got his own paid server and/or the trouble maker got tired of that little game.

I doubt that 'character', as you aptly put it, will come here in the same guise. For all you know, he may be already be here wearing a new costume and a different shade of make up, or, he may not be in disguise at all. There is no pugnacious Aussie, there is no cantankerous English colonel, there is no bitter old school-marm...there is only one troublemaker. Gaybutton
Unfortunately, mauRICE is right. The problem posters, for reasons it would take a highly skilled psychiatrist to explain, seem to thrive on causing as many problems as they can get away with. Yes, I did have similar problems before when I was using a public access message board. That's one of the reasons I finally decided on using a board on which nobody could post at all unless they had registered. It's the only way to exercise control. Even Gaypattayan, from the Pattayagay.com web site, had problem posters and he finally got rid of his board entirely. He tried every which way to get these people to stop, but no matter what he did they continued to persist. He finally got fed up and eliminated the problem by eliminating the board. I remember one time he told me about a nut out there who had posted something outrageous. He deleted the post and sent a warning to the person who posted it. Next thing he knew, the message was posted again. He deleted it again. Less than five minutes later the message was back. He deleted and this person must have been sitting by his computer, waiting like a vulture, because every time the post was deleted the nut would re-post it. I don't get it. Apparently there are people out there who think a web site message board is the most important thing in the world, at least to them. That's just crazy. But then again, there are also people out there who do things such as traveling to Thailand and intentionally get involved with under-age sex. Do any of you long-time board users remember the person who used to post on my board under the handle "Aristo?" He would constantly post messages, bragging about coming to Thailand and having sex with under-age boys. He insisted that the worst that could happen would be a 200 baht fine. He would always say, "Big scare" Anybody remember that? What goes on in people's minds? The moment I began requiring registration and took control, that was the last anybody heard from "Aristo." For a long time people kept calling me a control freak. Perhaps I was, but sometimes that's what it takes in order to put a stop to these people. Guest namjai
Yes, I remember Aristo. He was class A scum in my opinion. Perhaps he finally got caught and is now enjoying his stay at the Bangkok Hilton!

I don't want to be contentious, or belligerent, or pissy,.....but i am thoroughly fed up with cheap shots at pederasts. OK, they're here. OK, you don't like them. You work them into half your posts. Really easy cheap shot since no one can actually defend them in and sane way. How about letting it go? Do you actually think people see you as better because the boy that sucks your d*** may be 18 instead of 16????? Enough with this "Those people are insane or awful or whatever crap". People can and will post what they feel. So be it. Bitching about what people post is the SAME nonsense as the post you are complaining about! Just ignore it and it will go away. Trolls only look for a response. Just say NO.

Sorry, but I have taken a stand against pedophiles for many years and I intend to continue to do so. If that bothers you, then I suggest you refrain from reading my posts because I am going to continue exactly the same kind of posting. Nothing personal, but if someone is going to decide when it's been enough, I guarantee it isn't going to be you.
Guest jomtien
The 'enough' was referring to the increasing number of posts on this board complaining about how awful posters on other boards are. I signed on last night and caught up on a number of threads and most of them contained shots at the 'bad people'. Yet I see no 'bad' people here. Why complain about posts on other boards? That only turns this board into something different. I had written a reply to your post but when I came back on it (your reply) had been edited, so I will toss out that reply (my reply). It seems MY post was edited also, I have no idea by whom. Don't posts here usually show some sort of 'edited on....by.....' notice?

It should not be possible for any moderator to edit postings. However, I have put this question to the programming team and will find out for you. I have never edited a post on here. I have deleted a few.
dapitt
Why complain about posts on other boards? That only turns this board into something different. Exactly ! I gave up on that 'other board' a long time ago, and have high hopes for this board. I, for one, greatly enjoyed Gaybutton's board with all of it's very, very good info for LOS visits. With the closing of that board, I feel that a great resource has been lost. Often what is presented by posters as 'information', turns out to be just that person's general complaints about anything on their mind. Hopefully, this board can be above that. Gaybutton
Do you actually think people see you as better because the boy that sucks your d*** may be 18 instead of 16????? How other people see me is no concern of mine. The difference is at 16 it is illegal and a person who engages in it risks suffering all the legal consequences. I consistently point that out to people, not out of hatred but as a warning. Not everyone who reads these boards has been reading them for years, as you have. Some are new to these boards and may not be aware of it at all. That is why I am going to continue those sorts of posts whether it bothers you or not.
