Guest tomcal Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 "Wow!! Are these typical of what is available in the saunas and bars? If I only spoke the language and had a fat bank account." TY, You don't need a fat bank account!! In Porto Alegre the guys are very happy with $50.R(actually $40.R but it's impossible to get enough $20R. Bills, whereas $50.R bills are common so giving them $50 actually includes a 10R Tip) at Today's Rate $50R = $28 U.S. That's for one hour, although one thing about Brazilians, they are not clock watchers! If anything I am the one getting them moving on so I can go to the next "appt". Quote
Members marcanthony Posted May 12, 2010 Members Posted May 12, 2010 thanks, Tomcal. I think I can safely say that these are MY TYPE! Quote

The place is high end and boys tend to ask high price. They commonly ask 100 Reais for a session. One of them broke all negotiations and went away when a customer proposed 40 Reais. I paid 60 and tipped because I was particularly pleased of the service. Indeed the boys are not clock watcher. You pay them 100, but they stay all evening with you as long as you feed them and buy them drinks. As for the cost of living in Porto Alegre, from the discussion I had with the boys, I understand that a boy can make 40 Reais a day working in the construction. A secretary would win between 30 and 35. Renting a flat, including all charges is around 400 Reais a month. Quote
Members firecat691614502759 Posted November 27, 2011 Members Posted November 27, 2011 I have been to all the saunas in SP and Rio on 3 different trips and for sure those photos are NOT typical of the boys you find. In fact if you found one like that it would be a miracle. Now my good friend OZ tells me it is completely different in Porte Allegre and I for one would love to see some photos of sauna boys that look anything like the boys pictured above. OZ always seems to forget his camera , so who out there has photos of actual sauna boys in PA that look like the above. Please post them??? Quote

Have you viewed all of the pics which TomCal so graciously posted at this site during the past year and one half? <I saw some hotties at the saunas in Rio last month, October 2011; they looked as hot as these guys; I even went with a few for R$70 flat fee or the going rate in "The Marvelous City" now!!! Members firecat691614502759 Posted November 28, 2011 Members Posted November 28, 2011 I follow Tomcals posts all over the world and have seen all his photos of sauna boys. In my opinion not one of them looked like the photos in this thread. They all looked typical RIO or SP sauna boys and for the most part would never be called twinks (IMHO), The boys pictured in this thread more closely resemble Prague boys then the sauna boys I have met in Brazil. Now I am sure the pics are of Brazilian boys in PA and my only question is do the sauna boys in PA look like these boys and does anybody have pics of them. Quote
Members mvan1 Posted November 29, 2011 Members Posted November 29, 2011 I have been to Porto Alegre countless times. I can attest to the fact that most of the guys in that city are much lighter skinned than found in Rio or Sao Paulo or in Norther Brazil. Remember from your history books, the Southern part of Brazil is where numerous German officers went when they fled Germany after world war two. Many settled in Argentina but many more settled in Southern Brazil, not far from Porto Alegre. In smaller towns near Porto Alegre, you will often hear German spoken by the inhabitants. The settling of the Germans accounts for the lighter skin tones on many inhabitants in Porto Alegre. I believe that Tomcal's photos are authentic. Quote
TotallyOz Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Firecat, I have told you in the past that I met several boys in PA that looked like this. You don't believe me. That is OK. But, I have met then. If you go down one week and go to that sauna, you may or may not find them. Sometimes you have to be there at the right time. When I was there on my last trip, I met 2 guys that were twinkier looking and better looking than the guys in the photo. I went with both. I had a good time with one of the two. But, I didn't take photos. Sorry, my mind was different places. But, most of us don't have time at the sauna to take out a camera and take a photo. Well, I have time, I am just shy. Tom is not shy and gives this board the best photos in Brazil consistently. I know you are a doubting Thomas by nature. But, when 3 people who post here all say the same thing and you still doubt, you then become a skeptic. Come over to the light! Come over to the light! Quote

Maybe because out of 100"s of photos posted by Tomcal, you and many others, there has not been one sauna boy photo that resembled the boys on the street photos taken by Tomcal in this thread!! I have been to Rio enough times to know that I don't want to go there anymore. It is a long trip and the chance of finding my type of boy is minimal. So before I travel thousands of miles to Port Alegre , I would like to be confidant that my type is readily available. I know that is a sure thing in Prague, Thailand, Cambodia, London etc etc etc. Refer to recent photos posted by Tomcal on his trip to Prague. I like South America and Brazil and would love to go to PA but only if my type of boy is readily available. Recent posts by Pauleiro make it sound like they are but where are the photos. By the way last time I checked your computer , there were 1000's of photos of boys all ove r the world. Shy?? I Think not!! Quote

The population in this part of Brasil is of European origin from Germany, Italy, and I think Spain. I found that out through my agent whom I gave business during three of my eight trips to Rio; I also visited Curitiba in 2006 for almost a week! BTW, I don't "have a type." I like all men if they're handsome (from my point of view) and are carrying a "big stick" I go for them !!! :P But again remember "to each his own!" " Quote
Members pauleiro Posted November 30, 2011 Members Posted November 30, 2011 I am not going to post the picture of Eduardo, since I promised that I would not do that, but I can comment the first two pictures posted by Tomcal at the beginning of this thread. I do not know where the pictures were taken, but they could have been taken in Sauna Mezzaninu. It is exactly the type of boys that you can find there. I am travelling with a friend who likes twinks, while I like more muscular guys. We were both in heaven in Mezzaninu. The vast majority (more than 80 %) of the boys present the two days we were there are totally european looking which I like. You could think that you are in Italy. The age of the boys in the sauna is between 19 and 25 in the vast majority of cases. Not older boys, overmuscular, overtattooed like in the saunas in Rio. My trip to Porto Alegre met all my expectations and beyond and it is clear that I will come back in the future (BTW we go back to Porto Alegre this week end). Firecat, if you want to have another look at what the Mezzaninu boys look like, go to their site and look at the pictures of the boys who are posted there (http://www.mezzaninu.net/garotos.htm. Personnally, I had a much better impression looking at the boys in live in Mezzaninu sauna than when I look at the pictures on their site. Quote

Firecat, here are pics of my three favorite sauna guys in P.A., I don't know your standards so I don't know if they would make you fly 1/2 way around the world. I met the first two of them at Mezzininu sauna the third one at Plataforma. I have posted pics of them before on here and keep in contact with them. I don't know if they will pass your test or not, but hoping... Quote

Very typical of the boys who can be found in Mezzaninu sauna. Did not see this boy in particular. He is great ! I will check again tonight since I am back in Porto Alegre. Tonight in Mezzaninu is the anniversary of André, whoever André is. I hope many boys will be present ! Quote

Guess I am still drawn to the teenage look that are in your street photos. Quote
