Rio Saunas in November

I just came back from my first trip to Rio. 8 days (or shall I say nites ?) in Heaven !

I will not write about safety in Rio since I commented this subject in another thread. Summarizing, I found Rio to be much safer than I imagined and much safer than it is described everywhere. If I was a bit reluctant to take the metro or to walk alone in the street the very first day, I did that regularly during all the other days without experiencing any problem. Of course obvious precautions have to be taken (be as « local » as possible, no jewels or watches, no showing of large amounts of money,etc.)

I went basically to the three main saunas in Rio : Point 202, Club 117 and Meio Mundo.

Point 202 is the most upscale of the three : there is a nice lounge, good shows, nice atmosphere and a wide variety of boys. It is certainly the place where there is the highest proportion of whites and light browns (« morenos claros » as they are officially called there). More than 2/3 of the boys are either black or « morenos escuros ». There are all ages, even though most of the guys are around 25 years old. We met there a young lad with green eyes who had just turned 18 a few weeks ago. His friend of 22 was with him, a gorgeous white lad with beautiful blue eyes and a nice body.

The shows are based on boys stripping naked and transvestites singing (most of the shows are around 8 or 9 pm). We also attended a live interview of Mr Gay Brazil 2009 (Anderson Soares) who was there in his underwears but who unfortunately did not do any strip. There is also the presentation of the cutest beginners on Tuesday nites.

I do not consider the boys to be pushy, but I guess that it is because I speak almost fluent portuguese which helps explaining what I want and what I do not want and to tell the boy if he has some changes to have me as a customer or not. I found the boys very professional once you agree on a rate and a program, I was never cheated and only in one case I was not completely satisfied by the prestation (it was with a boy in Meio Mundo that I met later also in Point 202). All boys are asking for more than 50 Reais : my first nite in Point, I discussed with a first lad who asked ... 150 Reais, then decreased to 100, but did not accept to go lower than 80. Another one asked for 80 and accepted 70, not less. Then I found Rodolpho who accepted 50 which was the limit I tried to reach for the first nite. Excellent time with Rodolpho who even insisted in being fucked. I gave him 60 Reais in total and told him that I planned to meet him again during my stay.

The wanking room is also a place to chat and a paradise for the voyeur. Boys come here to harden their cock (sometimes already very hard) by watching to a straight movie and make jokes between them (and sometimes exchange about the punters...). After, they would go to the lounge, still wanking their huge cocks and trying to find a customer...

There are three types of rooms in Point 202 : cabin (20 Reais), Suite (video + air conditionning) = 25 Reais and Master suites (including a large bed and a shower). Rooms can be used during a maximum of 40 minutes. Avoid the 20 Reais cabins and pay the 5 reais additional for having air con ! Some days there is no charge for cabins on Tuesdays and Thursdays ..

Club 117 is very easy to find, located close to the metro station of Gloria. Generally speaking, there are more guys than in 202. Most of the boys are darker than in Point 202, even though some white or light brown can also be found there. There are two bars, one being also a show room and the other (rather new in the basement, close to lockers) is much smaller and permits talking. The wanking room is much larger than in Point 202 and is certainlly worth a visit by itself ! The sauna is rather small. Same types of suites as in Point 202 and same types of prices (Entrance : 35 Reais – suite : 15 Reais). Tuesdays and Thursday are days when cabins are free (except bank holidays or day before bank holidays). In addition on Thursdays drinks are « liberados » (« liberados » meaning free but is only applicable to cheap drinks sold in bulk (choppe) for which you get free refill, same for beer on the last Friday of the month which is « liberada » from 7 to 8 and from 9 to 10 pm

Meio Mundo

The names or the other two saunas is easy to understand, since it is simply the number they have on the street. In the case of Meio Mundo, I wondered the origin of the name (which means « Half World » in portuguese). I finally came to the conclusion that it meant a place where many people go. And it is true : there are many people there. Most of the boys are darker here than in Point 202 or Club 117. And there is no need to try to find a wanking room since all boys, practically all days are following a no-towel policy and wanking everywhere ... A kind of voyeur's paradise ... And the boys are eager not only to show you their (normally huge) dicks but to have it in your hand to see how hard, how thick, ... it is. The boys want to make sure that you understand that they are « well dotados » (well hung). It seems to be easier than in the other two clubs to have boys accepting 50 Reais for a session. The cabins are also much cheaper since I think that the older cabins are free and the new ones are either 10 or 15 Reais.

I went only once to Meio Mundo because I did not like it as much as the other two saunas, because it can only be reached by taxi, because the suites – at least the ones I went to - are not nice at all and finally because it was the only sauna in which I did not have a perfect experience with a boy (too quick, not really caring, not good rimmer).

Rio met all my expectatives and I will certainly go there again next year to discover new places and meet new boys. There is also one point that I did not mention and which is worth mentionning : Sauna boys are, for most of them, expert in the use of their tongue, particularly for rimming. Rimming or sometimes tongue-fucking is sometimes included in the « normal » program or can be considered as an option and charged in addition to the normal program (10 or 20 Reais). In 90 % of the cases, it has been a perfect part of the session. It seems that many escorts worldwide do not accept to rim or charge much more to do so. Not in Brazil ! (rimming is called « chupar o cu »).

Finally, I must say that I left Rio with « saudades » (regrets) as they say there and I will try to keep in touch with Anselmo (from Point 202) and Rodolfo (from Club 117) and meet them again next year. I went with them both twice during the stay and both (and others boys also) told me at the end of the second session, knowing that we might never see each other again (vaia com deus = go with God ie May God be with you).

In this case it is nice to have the prespective of a first time visitor who also is fluent in the native language. Enjoyed the read and appreciate your take on the differences between the saunas. You added additional breadth to my understanding of the scene. One example, the information about the rimming was new for me.

I enjoyed reading the preceding experiences, but I, as Lucky, was somewhat baffled by P's reviews where he seemed to have cited too much about the complexions of the guys at the saunas. As a visitor to the country and to some of its major cities and smaller towns and the jungle, I've noted a variety of hues and do NOT have a preference. I look beyond one's colour and focus on other attributes, plus all of the saunas have guys of a variety of hues, not just one-- the lighter of those present.
