Scott Adler Arrested on Drug Charges

It does seem that he is reacting to stresses that are not from the board, as what is happening on the board does not call for such a reaction.

How could you even suggest that Lucky? Whenever Daddy feels stresses related to the forums, he simply deletes them.

To suggest that what is happening on the forums is no indication as to what Daddy is feeling and how he is reacting, is like saying that you can simply change your fortune by re-shaking the "magic eight ball" and hoping for a better answer. Oh wait!

You're smarter than that Lucky.

I agree with TY in that Daddy's recent actions are part of a pattern that's been going on for some time. However, in the past, when he's shut down the message centre, I seem to recall seeing some nasty exchanges/personal attacks going on - and while I thought shutting down the centre was a drastic step to take at that time, I could see why Daddy thought a 'cooling off' period might be beneficial to the community as a whole. However, this time, I saw no such exchanges, no personal attacks, just some frank differences of opinion that are going to arise in any kind of discussion forum. And if I have to restrain myself from engaging in such 'frank discussions' on escort behaviour because Daddy might interpret it as 'flaming' or 'harassing' an escort, then I see no reason to participate at all! <_<

I think that Lucky's right in that Daddy's reaction is probably a product of stress. Daddy has spoken of currently undergoing both financial and health difficulties and I have no doubt that they are probably at least partly responsible for his latest overreaction(s). But, in my opinion, if Daddy's finding running the site too stressful under his current situation, then he should say so and look for (a) successor(s) to run it for him on a temporary/permanent basis. Because his personal situational 'stresses' don't give him the right to abuse his authority in the way he has been doing so, especially lately.

Luv2play says that Daddy "has a job on his hands to reassure the members that he is being even-handed in his hosting functions on the site." I agree it's a big task but it's Daddy's own actions that have made it so. For my part, I lost confidence in Daddy's 'even-handedness' quite some time ago and I've now given up on waiting for him to correct it. I guess I'd rather leave now on my own terms than be among the last few folks playing by themselves in a sandbox that used to hold many hundreds. And I've no doubt that unless Daddy does change his course/attitude, that's inevitably going to happen... :(

While I appreciated that blog when it first came up, because it was one of the first places I could find concrete information on the subject in question... IMO, it's rapidly departed from that and degenerated into the one of the worst examples of tabloid speculation I could possibly imagine.

I think that daddy has more on his mind and plate right now than just the message center and it's incidental posters.

Although the seeds of the poison which you choose to ignore are clearly represented in the form of "could this have been me", and with fact at hand, They are regardlessly facts that none of us can or should ignore.

What if it had been different for Scott? Because of Us?

All the following cliche's are variations of the same tune:

1) Leopards don't change their spots

2) The more things change, the more they stay the same

3) Can't teach an old dog new tricks

4) The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome

I am sure there are more, but not interested in spending that much more time thinking about it because I came to that conclusion a few years ago. I think it might have been on the 3rd time (and apparently there have been several after that).

Matrix, what is your connection to the blog you are promoting? If it's yours why not just say so? <_< Should we expect to see material taken from MER threads posted there if anyone here manages to piss you off? Just asking.

Should I turn my opninions over to TT and RS (the best escorts/capable young men I have ever met....) But if I do that, they are so diplomatic, they won't say a critical word. Even despite all this bullshit. They won't comment. I have tried to be nice.

Daddy is not grouchy. Well maybe he is "grouchy", but that's beside the point. Daddy is acting like a BABY. His post tonight was a baby squealing out for help. HELP! Well, Hooboy is gone and you, DADDY, have made this sorry state of affairs that is YOUR message center. How many times did you remind us that it is YOUR forum and YOU don't give a shit about who YOU "alienate"? Hmmm. I don't know how to rank YOUR behavior as compared to SA. How pretentious and "taken for granted" you are about everyone who posts on YOUR (or should I say "MY") message center and formus? Right? You don't seem to give a fuck. Maybe it's time people feel the same way about YOU.

And here's the real point of this post--what about BN? Just to expose your rank hypocrisy and favoritism which this site hasn't fallen to as of now. Daddy, you let your forums go on and on railing against the plagarism of BN, which he apologized for. ON and ON. Do you remember that spectacle? ON and ON. I've never seen Doug69 so animated. If Woodlawn was still around, the two of them would have been multiple cummers, over and over again, feeding off of that frenzy. And yet BN's blog is something totally disconnected, absolutely irrelevant, to his escort work. Look at BN's positive reviews, that is what you see over and over again (and I'm no fan, and have never hired him, or SA). Unlike Daddy's current meltdown and the predicament of SA (the "drug" allegations being relevant to many posters unlike age-old plagiarism), I don't want more bad blood.

Just so you know, I am a former "mean girl" from a site still maintained by BON and others. In that capacity I was no friend to SA or BN or certain other controversial posters at that dead site, meaning Daddy's site.

Here's another irony: BN warned us all about the instant controversy. Read his 15 mintues and other posts. Read between the lines. BN knew and already warned and reported on this subject.

No connection at all and I didn't realize that I was promoting it necessarily, by just providing a link. I just found this current post intriguing.

There it is. Daddy may be the planet's greatest tech. But a salesperson/customer-service type, he ain't. This has been clear since he first started trying to fill Hooboy's shoes. Why, after all this time, does it continue to surprise us?

Lucky, on many occasions I agree with you and on many I disagree. But, your above statement is one I highly respect. You have posted on that board and are a large part of the success it has and the money it makes and you are right, your contributions should not be taken lightly. Nor should anyone's.

Your money. Your dime. Not my business.

My money. My dime. Looking for a good time. ^_^ Any suggestions from LA?

i think anyone who donated is a foo. but like oz and lucky said its their money. i can remember when oz was getting beat up for over tipping escorts i think in thailand and people said he would ruin it for everyone else i can see the headlines now man goes on wild tipping spree in bangkok film at 11. lol well its oz money and he should make his own choice whether right or wrong.

scott has been arrested. this lets see what happen attitude doesnt change the fact the police feel he broke the law. give him all the benefit of doubt you want but you cannot change that fact.

i hope he gets it all worked out even though i don't like him i don't think he is a bad person either.

I disagree. The reason: I've seen all of this before... many times. The erratic behavior and treatment of posts, threads and members. The precipitious closing of the forum without warning. Many times. I have also seen most posters always return every time.

There were reasons Oz, I and marcanthony and others left. It wasn't out of whim. For all of us, the reasons were rooted in the management style and operation of that site -- a style which hasn't changed nearly five years later. Nor should anybody have expected any different. I said at our site inauguration and many times since that " people get whatever they are willing to settle for". History has proven what was always obvious to me. So it will again.

Even on my relatively short acquaintance, it's clear that these crises happen periodically. On each occasion, there is an uproar from the client side of the divide. Then it all dies down each time until the next time. There's no reason to think that will change for a long as that site continues to exist.

As to why and how that site survives, I think it's due to unwavering support from the escorts. On that site, they are treated worshipfully by its management on the relentless premise that they can do no wrong. That attitude is supported by those posters whose admiration of the escorts is servile to the point of essentially excluding any other consideration. On this site, the escorts can expect respectful and friendly treatment. No contest. Why would they want to abandon the one for the other? And where the escorts are, there will their coteries be.

If anybody wants to follow the Scott Adler court cases go to this site :

http://scottadlertrialsethapper.blogspot.com/

There was another site that was up for a while, but was taken down.

If correct, it's interesting that the drugs he's been caught with were only MDMA and GHB. I could swear 'harder' drugs were implied by previous websites/posts, making him out to be the Pablo Escobar of the escort scene, a level of criminality I'd never seen in him the few times we met socially.

So are the penalties lower? As long as this isn't his third strike isn't he likely to be out soon?

Don't know what you saw but I don't put much stock in comments by anonymous pseudonyms on anonymous sites. Even court documents don't always tell the whole truth else trials would be unnecessary as would be the presumption of innocence. I'm content to let Scott have his say before I speculate about his future.

I am not sure why these websites about Scott come and go, but one thing is consistent with each of them: Anonymous posters. What is it that makes these guys afraid to show their names?

Lucky, when I first saw your post I thought of the old joke "Made you look!" So many have ranted and raved about this becoming so public but yet they seem to visit any site they can, to get the lastest info on Scott's problems. Sadly Scott's problems appear to be no joke. I feel sad for him and his situation and wonder why he did not learn a lession the first time especially with it being so recent. If he is lucky enough to get another chance I hope he uses it wisely.

Once Michael Musto wrote about Scott's arrest in The Village Voice, a legitimate source of news, this site did the right thing in allowing open discussion.

I am sorry that Lucky disagrees (over and over again), but he seems to be the only one.

Has anyone contacted Scott, or visited him in jail? I am not looking for anything beyond basic information -- for example, is the contact information correct as posted on one of the many blogs?

An accident in a freeway's northbound lanes will slow traffic on the southbound lanes as drivers gawk. That's not in everyone's best interest, as it's safer to stick to watching the traffic on one's own side of the road.

I've been driving for over thirty years and I still have to fight the urge to gawk at accident scenes. It takes will power to keep my eyes on my side of the road.

The SA-in-hot-water blogs are alluring for the same reasons that make people watch movies about crime and police work. But a person can be fascinated by other people's run-ins with the law and at the same time realize that there are better things they could be doing with their time. So in response to Lucky's question: the anonymity may come from people being of two minds--fascinated by watching a crash (metaphorically speaking) and yet not proud that they are.

There's also the issue of this being a criminal case in progress and thus a bit hot to handle. The DA's office might be reading the blogs for all we know, and people posting comments may prefer to keep a distance.

As a former practicing attorney, my instinct is to defend the guy who is down. I don't believe in piling on when a guy has enough trouble already. The idea that you have to post anonymously because the DA might be reading the blogs- highly unlikely in my opinion- is just a cop out. Either you have the courage of your convictions or you don't. As for these guys who bought drugs and then attack the dealer, well, there but for the grace of God go you. If you had been the one arrested, you'd want support from people, not a free for all of anonymous backstabbing.

All said, I am sure that the justice system will deal accordingly with the facts before it. So why all of the extra attempts to dump on Scott, I just don't know.

"If you had been the one arrested, you'd want support from people....."

I completely agree. If you know Scott as a friend, acquaintance or fellow poster on a message board, the kind thing is to provide as much help and support as possible.

Again, I want to recognize the owners of this site for opening up this subject for public discussion. I was aware of Scott's situation, but did know how to contact him until I came here.

To this point I have avoided this thread like the plague. Now I guess it is time to give my two cents worth and exit. On this one I’m with Lucky 100%. I have known SCOTT for a number of years, I like him, and I am sincerely sorry about his current difficulties. I see NO value what-so-ever in the discussion on this thread. I simply see it, on the part of many, as gleeful voyeurism. Frankly what is the fucking point? Simply because some of the information presented here, regarding Scott, is true does not lessen the fact that this thread is STILL idle, valueless gossip – gossip is NOT necessarily false it is here just without merit.

You phrased this as a question, so I will respond.

It is legitimate to want to know about the character and habits of people--in this case, escorts--we consider inviting into our homes and spending time with. It's partly a desire to avoid trouble but it's also just personal preference. All else equal, if I'm paying $200+ an hour I'd rather it be to someone whose values and character I respect.

I feel like I'm stating the obvious. I mean, this is a site for sharing information about escorts, yes?

I agree that raw negativity and "piling on" is uncalled for. I don't believe I've engaged in that.

When someone here asked about how to contact Scott, I tried to be helpful by responding with a link to someone's web page that gave his mailing address. When you say you "see NO value what-so-ever in the discussion on this thread", I have to wonder if you even read it.

I again thank this site's administrators for the patience and tolerance they have shown.
