Members Thumper1 Posted October 1, 2009 Members Posted October 1, 2009 I was wondering if anyone thinks that if Rio gets the 2016 Olympics there's a risk of the Spas closing down in an effort to clean up the city? The Giuliani effect. Quote
Guest tomcal Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I was wondering if anyone thinks that if Rio gets the 2016 Olympics there's a risk of the Spas closing down in an effort to clean up the city? The Giuliani effect. Thumper, I dont' think so. The saunas are not in areas frequented by tourists. Pointe 202 is 7 blocks in from the beach area in Copa and on the street heading up to the favela, both 117 and Spazio18 are in Gloria and Meo Mundo is downtown surrounded by office building in a decidely not tourist area! Unlike HELP Disco!! famous Disco HELP on Copacabana Beach, well known for the place to go to meet female hookers! http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/aug/17/rio-help-nightclub-closure#history-byline Quote
caeron Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 My guess is given the street crime in Rio, that this won't even hit their radar. They'll be focused on making the city safe for all the dumb tourists who will come :-) Quote
