Guest Hedda Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Pattaya seems to have more than its share of older fat farangs who can't or won't kick the nasty habit of smoking cigarettes. If you fit that descirption, you might want to take a look at the medical article cited below. According to the article, called "Sexuality: Smoking and Obesity Raise Risk of Erectile Woes", smokers are 50% more likely to experience erectile dysfunction and fat smokers doubles the risk of having problems getting it up. I can't imagine what the numbers look like when a few vodka martinis are thrown into the mix ! You realize, of course, that the enlightened bar owners of Pattaya, almost all of whom are still allowing both customers and employees to light their cancer sticks up at will, couldn't care less if your health as a non-smoker is being harmed by breathing the foul air in their brothels. ________________ http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/18/health/1...opics%2fObesity Quote
Guest catawampuscat Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 There is no excuse for bar owners, mamasans etal. for allowing the boys to smoke and add to the haze in the bars.. I found myself irritated by a group of smokers the other nite in Sunee in an outdoor beer bar.. The wind shifted and I turned the fan to blow the offensive smoke right back at the smokers.. They didn't seem to notice.. For those anti American types out there, one has to admit that the Europeans smoke in much higher percentages and are usually the culprits in the bars and restaurants.. At the very lease, owners should insure that the staff doesn't smoke inside but it is an uphill battle.... Quote
