Members TownsendPLocke Posted August 17, 2009 Members Posted August 17, 2009 If you can help him I know it would be appriciated. This was posted over there. Please guys-keep your comments civil-not the time for harsh words. " Daddy needs your help By James Several years ago Daddy dropped everything and drove three hours to help me out of a sticky situation. Over the years his advise has given me both the motivation and the funds to retire from Escorting and eventually to earn my MBA. Over the last few years I've become fairly successful and I owe this all to Daddy. Last Wednesday when a friend called to let me know that Daddy needed help. I looked at his post in the Message Center and the line: "But right now there's no one around to watch over me" jumped out at me. I packed a bag and drove up to see him and we’ve since spend many hours discussing how get him over this hump in the road. The hardest part was convincing him that over the years he has acted much more like a “public service†than a business and that just like PBS it was OK to ask for donations. Pointing out that Hooboy did it all the time finally swung him over. Tonight he is adding a “Donate†page so that he can accept donations in a manner that only causes him a small amount of anxiety and should be a bit of fun for you. Please go check out the new donation page and consider helping Daddy out." Here is the link to his donation page. http://daddysreviews.com/donate.php Best of luck with this. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I have not been to that site in quite a while until I read this post and I read the posting associated with it. There is a great deal I could say but I won't. I will say that websites are a business like any other. To make money from them you need to offer a service that others want and are willing to pay for. Neither Daddy or I have been able to do this. We both love escorts and love to help them. I love helping them often (sometimes 3 or 4 times a day). I would also love it if someone sent me some money. If I post a link to my paypal account, I would be able to travel more and hire more boys to help the economy in other countries. A donation to me would not just help those in Washington or California but would help those in South America, Asia and Europe. Come on guys! PS Just read Stephen's request on the site asking for help too. I am so happy that everyone is coming to the aid of those in need. I wonder if I can get that sweet man that owns Stock to give me a few lap dances with his boys. Quote
Guest jack Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 There seems to be a bitterness to this web "business". Were it more profitable, I imagine it would be not quite so bitter. Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 22, 2009 Members Posted August 22, 2009 I love helping them often (sometimes 3 or 4 times a day). Now you're just bragging. I demand proof, preferably in the form of pix that I can blow up to cover most of my screen (solely to verify authenticity). European, Asian or South American, it's all good as long as there's lots of them. Quote

I am not a bitter man. I am quite happy with the way things are going for me in the web "business". No complaints on my end. Well, actually, I'd love to have my end smacked around a bit more. But for this to happen, I think I need a paypal link. If you could help Jack, I'll promise to show no bitterness ever again. Now you're just bragging. If I do, can you help me with a first class plane ticket to Black and Blue. I so want to go this year! Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 23, 2009 Members Posted August 23, 2009 You can count on it, Oz. Go ahead and get that Paypal link set up & I'll wire the money as soon as my check from Nigeria clears. Sorry to make you wait but my dinky dumb ass local bank seems to be having a problem processing the paperwork. Oh, and tell TY I will be throwing in a ticket for him too. Quote

It is for guys like you MsGuy that keeps me waking up each day. I can't wait for your check to clear from Nigeria. I'll have already started to make my Montreal reservations and am getting very excited about that trip. You are toooooo kind! About funds for websites, any site that has the number of hits Daddy does each day is not poor. His Alexa rankings hoover around 300,000 worldwide. In the USA around 140,000. Those numbers are not great but they tell you that he is able to make an income from the site. If he isn't, then there is something majorly wrong with the business plan. It happens. Shit happens all the time. He has a captive and loyal audience. They click links, they buy ads, profit is made. For those that do not believe this, I have this great condo I want to sell you in Las Vegas. I have already had over 20 offers on it, but I have turned them all down as few appreciate the Vegas Oceanfront properties. Like Daddy, this is a for-profit site. We do not make enough to live on. It was never our intent to support ourselves with this site. If it was, it would have been a bad business plan for TY and myself. We hope to make it more profitable each year but neither of us hope to live off of it. Hooboy had a prime commodity that no one else had and he made good money. I saw the figures at many points and was always impressed. Daddy took over that commodity (I am not going to rehash whether or not this was done in the right way or not as most know my opinion). Unless he totally ran it into the ground, it should still be making Daddy good money. If that is not the case, then perhaps he should get a good consultant to help him with his plan and his vision. When Daddy "took over" (again, pleasantries prevail when "stole like a horse thief" seems more appropriate) Hoo Boy's once grand, cash flowing site, he treated many of the posters there as if the shit from his royal crown prince of the internet's ass didn't stink. As it now appears that he has run it in the ground, as many predicted he would, through poor business skills and personal arrogance, maybe he'll develop an appreciation for how Foxy felt when he lost something that was legitimately his. I only wish that Hoo's family had the foresight to recognize that site's value and to place it in the hands of someone capable of running it. Daddy didn't have the skills or personality to run that site profitably. Or, perhap, this is nature's way of teaching him that payback is indeed a bitch. Sometimes the toughest situations in life teach you your best lessons. Hopefully, Daddy will learn a bit about humility as a result of his current misfortune. Will I donate to Daddy's cause? Hell, no. Fuck, no. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 See you in the Land of Smiles. I hope so. I know one lad here currently that would love to see you. I only wish that Hoo's family had the foresight to recognize that site's value and to place it in the hands of someone capable of running it. Daddy is not running the site for the family. It is his own site. They let him run M4M till they got the money they wanted from it and then closed it and completely shut Daddy out. They refused to take any offers on it as they did not not anyone including Daddy or myself to use Hoo's site or name or content. The current site that Daddy runs does not have the reviews Hooboy had on his site and it was not done with the blessing of the family. Quite on the contrary, they constantly distanced themselves from Daddy and the way things were run and done. It was a mess back then and it just has never gotten any better. I do not fault Daddy for all of this. He played the cards dealt to him. I feel he would have done much better had he been able to be honest with the family from the beginning and work with them. That did not happen and now the site has NOTHING to do with Hoo's old site. Some of the posters there still believe it does. They are mistaken. It is not Hoo's legacy. It never was. It never will be. Members Lycees Posted August 23, 2009 Members Posted August 23, 2009 Firstly, thanks to Oz for the explanation about the finances of these sites. I did find it rather strange that Daddy appeared to be in such a state since, like most others, I had always assumed Daddy's made a decent profit. I am certainly concerned about the future of Daddy's site because it is a resource that escorts and clients need and, just as Hertz needs Avis, so we all need this site as well. Much better to have two sites than one. Personally, I would not mind making a small contribution to keep them both in good health. However, from what Oz has said, and from my own knowledge of other sites, such contributions should not really be necessary. Free sites are much more likely to grow and with a review site, the more that participate, the better. Now, I wonder if that is the root of the problem... I have just seen a post on Daddy's saying that the Forum is quieter than it has ever been in the summer and I have certainly noticed this. Is traffic dropping off so much? Are people no longer interested in escorts - or, at least, interested in discussing them? That is a big worry because any review site depends on being able to attract a good number of contributors. Fewer reviews, fewer readers, it is a dangerous spiral. Both clients and escorts need to breath some life into both sites to keep them active. Quote
Guest Conway Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Honestly, one thing that I am seeing is that many high quality escorts don't want reviews, even positive ones, posted about them. Many have a good book of regulars that they see and they don't want the headache of having to deal with the attention from the masses (the sometimes indecisive masses)that a very good review brings. I had a great experience with a really delightful escort who has been reviewed well, but in a very limited way both here and on Daddy's site. When I asked if he'd like a review, he declined stating that he liked the current arrangement that he had with a few generous clients and didn't want to grow beyond that market. One would think that the current economy would be driving more and more hot young guys to consider escorting as a way of supporting themselves. From my view, it doesn't seem to be happening. Quote
Guest FourAces Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Interesting. I think the big guy's post was with good intentions and others have steered the train off the tracks. Isn't it time to stop venting and whining about this site or that site? Isn't it time to let HB's site die already? Isn't it time to look forward? So is Daddy a grand business person? Probably not. After all his main knowledge is technology and those who do know his background realize that he is an expert in his field. Sadly many people are experiencing financial issues. I don't blame anybody for trying to use their knowledge, business or any other legal means to offset their expenses. It really should not matter how the person ended up with financial issues the fact is people need help. If there are some that can be of help awesome. Quote

After all his main knowledge is technology and those who do know his background realize that he is an expert in his field. I don't know what technology he is an expert in as I don't know him. He is apparently not an expert in programming or design. There are many technologies out there and I am sue he is great in many other areas. Me, I am an expert in hookers. That is my field of expertise. That does not mean that my background will make this site better than others. Although, I do promise you I will try to gain more and more experience as the years go by. It really should not matter how the person ended up with financial issues the fact is people need help. If there are some that can be of help awesome. I agree. And, I am still waiting for my ticket to Montreal when the Nigerian bank check clears. Any word on that one yet? Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 24, 2009 Members Posted August 24, 2009 I am still waiting for my ticket to Montreal when the Nigerian bank check clears. Any word on that one yet? Not yet but I'll check on it first thing Monday morning. I've got to go by the bank anyway because something went wrong with my debit card this afternoon. The damned cash machines won't let me have any money; something crazy about my account having a negative balance. I'm telling you, if those idiots don't stop screwing up my account I will just take my business elsewhere. My guy in Lagos got all my account information last week to facilitate the transfer of funds so I know the delay is my bank's fault. Quote

On another note, I have seen that the number of white porn stars from Lagos is on the up-rise. They are on every site. Why do all the porn stars go there for business and then need help getting back to the USA? There must be an amazing club scene in Lagos and I have put it on my agenda for next year! The amount of people that fall for these scams is mind boggling. It really is. I am shocked all the time. Whether it is a letter from a bank or a request for a pixel heart. Some people are really so naive. Quote
Guest Conway Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 With all due respect, Oz, when I wrote, "I only wish that Hoo's family had the foresight to recognize that site's value and to place it in the hands of someone capable of running it.' I wasn't trying to "rewrite history". You may have misunderstood my original post. I was aware that the family didn't put the site in Daddy's hands. I was well aware of the fact that they chose to remove the existing content from the web. I was, really, lamenting the fact that when given the opportunity to put the site in more capable hands (namely yours) at a very advantageous price to the estate, they didn't. The fact that they chose to remove the content that was Hooboy's is regrettable to the hiring community in general. I apologize if my comments caused confusion. But, my intent has been clearly misunderstood. That said, I still wouldn't piss on Daddy if he was on fire. He's a rather miserable person in my opinion who is getting a much deserved karma kickback. Oz was trying so hard to avoid controversy and be nice to the other site but he just could not resist the dig about comparing donating pixel hearts to Nigerian bank scams! Joking aside, it still leaves the question unanswered as to what is happening. I think most people would agree that we need Daddy's site. To the casual observer, the curent site is much the same as ever. A few less posters on the forums but the same number of reviews. I guess a few less hits but still enough to generate an income. There can be only two possible answers: - The people running the site have made a mess of it behind the scenes and/or there has been some sort of fraud/bankruptcy with one of the companies they were involved with. - The plea for assistance is a sham. My feeling is that if they want their plea for help to succeed they will need to be more forthcoming about what has happened. Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Personally, I would not mind making a small contribution to keep them both in good health. Your willingness to contribute money to keep both sites going is a generous impulse. However, the chances that you'll ever be asked to act on it here are, I suspect, nil. An easier and less expensive way to demonstrate your interest in keeping this site going would be to post on these forums occasionally. Your total of 14 posts in 3½ years is pretty paltry and shouldn't take much effort to improve on. Just an observation. Quote

That really was not my intent. Sorry if I was trying to rewrite history. Although now that you bring it up, I have to sit and ponder this for a while. If I compare the last note I got from a guy from Nigeria and the one posted on the other site, I see some similarities. I didn't really see them before you brought this to my attention. Thanks for the light-bulb. There can be only two possible answers:- The people running the site have made a mess of it behind the scenes and/or there has been some sort of fraud/bankruptcy with one of the companies they were involved with. - The plea for assistance is a sham. Well, I'll let you pick one of the two. I can't see how fraud/bankruptcy can be involved as they deal with affiliates and I think it would be many sites in the same situation. I was involved with a company called IBill many years back and it took me for 50k. I was lucky as I know of others that lost 10 times that. But, it was all public and everyone knew about the fraud at that company. An easier and less expensive way to demonstrate your interest in keeping this site going would be to post on these forums occasionally. Your total of 14 posts in 3½ years is pretty paltry and shouldn't take much effort to improve on. Just an observation. Thank you Stu. You are right. Writing reviews and participating in the forums is the best way to keep this site going. Quote

I do know of sites that have got themselves into big trouble when an affiliate company went bust or ran off with money but, as you say, you would probably have heard about that. If the obvious answer is correct, it does leave rather a sour taste in the mouth. As to StuCotts' comments; I have posted a couple of reviews (under two names) and I rarely contribute to forums because I do not always feel there is much that either I can, or wish to add. This was an exception because the subject was more important. Invariably when I do contribute, some smart ass comes along with a comment that reminds me why I prefer to stay away. Quote

Oh, and he also hit me up for 1st class air fare to the black & blue party (whatever that is; SM fest maybe?).
