Oh the Places You'll Go

On a past job, before pimp or pornographer, I had a "regular" job. When I left, the staff threw me a party. They did not know I was leaving to start an escort business. They thought I was taking a new position in the legal field. They gave me a book, Oh the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. They have filled the covers from front to back with little notes and wishes.

I walked into Target the other day and saw the book on the stand. I had to take it out to read it. They were right. I have really traveled to many places that I never dreamed possible. I grew up poor white trailer park in the deep south with no one in my family ever venturing out of the state. Now, I really have been able to live a great life. Watching Cher on stage for the umpteenth time really made me think back to the book and the places I have been and still want to go. My first trips to Montreal with Marc Anthony, Tampa Yankee and Firecat are the ones that got me started with the travel fever. My first trip with Hooboy to Brazil sealed my fate. My first boyfriend in Thailand made sure that I would be back yearly until I am dead. My first time with Stefan LaCoste in Paris and eating some chocolate pastries every morning helped me to love Paris even more. My visit to Prague and Italy with a young lad from Campus Escorts in NYC helped me to love Italian food ever more than I dreamed possible.

My last bike ride in Thailand from Chiang Mai to Phuket was a 30 day adventure. While the travel bug still has it hold on me, the plans have changed as to the way I adventure. I still love the saunas of Rio and Hanging out with BigDaddy in Sao Paulo but I now want to see other sides to the places I have grown to love.

I want to go to the Holy Lands. It has been a dream. To be honest, I have been afraid but it was the first place I had ever wanted to visit as a young boy. I also want to go to Africa and spend time roaming around there. I don't want the 5 star hotels of either place but to find a way to see it like the locals see it.

Where are some places you have been that have made your life history better? Where are some places that you are still dreaming about?

Fourjogran here. Always dreamed of visiting Australia and New Zealand. When I was able to go, was fascinated and amazed. People were so friendly and scenery and places I visited were all I hoped for. Melbourne, Sidney, Canberra, Cairns and the Greta Barrier Reef. Also all of the amzingly grren New Zealand where to streams are so clean, it appears you could drink out them safely. Also surprised at a redwood forest.

Still want to visit Budpest and Prague. Am very well versed in history of those places and would like to see hem in person. And of course, am anxious to sample the boys as well.

Never been outside the continental U.S. Durham, N.C., my first adventure in living outside the State of Mississippi, brought on a severe case of culture shock. Rome would probably put me in hospital.

Sad but true.

I have had limited experience traveling outside the US.. so far, it has only been Mexican border cities, plus Montreal and this past November, Rio de Janiero..I have been to Montreal 9 or so times in about 5 years.. rio was just the first time this past November, but I hope to return again this November.. Other than that, I have always wanted to do the "Talented Mr. Ripley" thing of going all over Europe at no set pace.. Stay in a city until I was ready to move on to the next...Also, Thanks to all the wonderful posts on both sites, I would love to visit Thailand..

I would love to visit Thailand..

Thailand is quite magical and I have yet to meet anyone who likes guys for rent that did not have the time of their life there. The place is a mecca. However, if there were not guys there, I'd still have a fantastic time as the culture and the people really are amazing. It does not get the term Land of Smiles for no reason. The people are full of fun and laughter. Plus, unlike parts of Brazil, it is totally safe and easy to get anywhere!

I highly recommend South Africa. Capetown is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.

It is also quite interesting for a White person to be in the minority day after day. It takes a couple of days and then you are comfortable but it is an insight into how the Negro feels in USA.

Of course the Safaris are wonderful.

Although we only spent 4 days in Israel, the history you can soak up in that time is amazing. I would recommend at least 2 weeks and a very good guide. But better bring your BF with you because not much available in either destination. Then again Oz what might not be available to me, might very well be available for you.

I also enjoyed Japan but you have to get out of Tokyo. And of course you are always stopping in Japan on the way to Thailand.

This thread reminds me of I don't remember which Mae West movie. The scene is between Mae and a guy trying to impress her. The exchange, as I recall it, is:

Guy: I've been places and seen things.

Mae: Mm. I've been things and seen places.

Met a boy at my hotel tonight who is doing an Internship with the hotel I stay at. He wants to transfer to the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris. He is from there but Japanese decent. He is so yummy! He said he had a girl to go back to in Paris when he is done in USA. That said, he gave me his number and his e-mail and we are conversing. He invited me to stay with him when I go back to Paris. If I could only get him to give up the girl, oh he places we'd go. ^_^
