The GOP is a many-splendored brawl

Laboratory rats confined together in a small space and subjected to stress they can't escape eventually attack each other in their desperation. So it is with today's Republicans.

There was the Limbaugh-Steele cat fight. Limbaugh won. The party didn't.

Limbaugh has a special soft spot in his fat for the criminally incompetent AIGers now enjoying their bonuses. His Immensity, accustomed only to the robotic slavishness of supine dittoheads, is having a huge snit at Sen. Grassley for suggesting ritual suicide to the wrongdoers and at Charles Krauthammer for wanting to borrow a guillotine from France ( a freedom guillotine? ) to use on them. Fun to watch.

Then there's the McCain-Coulter-Ingraham mud wrestle. What fiction writer would dare expose himself to death threats by inventing a scenario like that?

There must be mountains of stuff on a similar level of dignity that would fill dozens of posts like this if I could work up an interest in digging around for them.

A well-known study familiar to any social psych student.

The GOP is searching for its identity and effective leadership at this time. Not so much due to high density living as in the rat study, rather the opposite I'd say. They need more participation, not less. They will find their bearing eventually.

Sorry but this topic falls under political discussion, thus out of the scope of this forum.
