The 'new' trend? (websites)

I noticed that 2 sites men4rent and rentmen have this thing where if your ad expires then it still list it on the website, but it doesnt publish your number. However, people can still send emails to you, except you cant read them and rather the site sends you an email saying that you have 'client responses'.

Well for about a week I didnt want to renew my subscription and was getting all these emails about how I had messages waiting, but couldnt check them. So once I signed back up, I could see who had messaged me and contacted them back.

I think its good that we're able to have messages on hold, but without our number showing (of course) and not being able to read those emails if I decide to not want to list on a certain week...can make it seem like Im ignoring those responses or something.

Zombie ads are the death of many of those kind of sites, though they never seem to figure that out. I don't want to see a ton of ads, but find most of them aren't current. Give me a site that makes sure the ads are current, and I'm there.

thats what I mean, I know rentboy takes your ad off right away if you dont renew it. Its actually quite a few of those zombie ads on some sites.

I don't know if American Male even exists anymore. It had turned into an almost exclusive Zombie site a few years back.

I think its insane to have all those old profiles like that. Maybe its less competition than I thought :P

I think the point is to make that sites look more popular than they are.

It is the lazy and cheap way to market the websites - the hope is more ads generate more internet hits; more hits, in theory, translate to a more succesful website which, in theory, attract more ads.

These webmasters shoulds spend more time offering free or cheaper escort ads and make sure ad content is current. Current and reliable ads are what we clients desire. These sites with zombie ads, I look at occasionally to see if something new has happened, but generally ignore.

Rentboy is probably my favorite - at least I have best experiences with it - but it is more expensive for the escorts. I like the concept behind MER, and they certainly demonstrate effort to improve, but unfortunately is not as utilized as much by the escorts - hopefully over time, this will improve.

Menforrentnow is a good (bad) example of this. The lack of contact info gives it away.

Their primary purpose is leveraged marketing. They hold emails hostage on expired accounts and email the escort that they have contact emails waiting when they renew their account. They also provide more eyecandy for voyeurs. Fortunately, the active accounts are listed first.

Funny you should mention this. i was goofing around today and found the site maleescorts.org . I;d say a good 75% of the ads on there are no longer valid, but it was a trip down memory lane. I even saw an ad for my old favorite, Shawn Coxx.
