Guest Conway Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I'm headed out to Denver, then to Winter Park. I have skied. But, I want to learn to snow board. Does anyone have any good recommendations of instructors there or n Denver? Quote
Members RodHagen Posted December 22, 2008 Members Posted December 22, 2008 I don't know any in Colorado, sorry. But, some advice. I've been a skier for over 30 years (started at 4) and have been snowboarding for 15 years. That said, in the beginning learning snowboarding can be much more frustrating than learning skiing was (on skis you can at least stand!!). But don't give up. By the third/fourth full day something should click and you'll be rocking! I'm headed out to Denver, then to Winter Park. I have skied. But, I want to learn to snow board. Guest TNTTed Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I don’t know any instructors either, but from my experience, the quality of the instructor for beginning snowboarding isn’t that crucial. Like Rod, I skied for years then tried snowboarding. The basics aren’t too hard to understand, but it really does just take practice. And Rod’s right, after a couple of days something just clicks, and off you go. A minor warning, though. Those first few days you will be sore and you will ache. Unless you have rare athletic skills, be prepared to spend a lot of time falling on your ass. We’ll look for a report. And enjoy. It’s great fun. Quote
Guest Conway Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Awesome. Thanks for the advice. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I won't like falling on my ass a whole lot. but since I know that is what it takes to succeed, I won't let myself get frustrated. Quote
