Members TownsendPLocke Posted December 14, 2008 Members Posted December 14, 2008 I see in the Las Vegas paper that they are expecting unemployment to reach 10%-20% in their town next year. That is a huge number of guys out of work, some of which might very well turn to "other ways"of bring home the bacon So do you think the layoffs in construction, retail, and hospitality will increase the numbers on rentboy.com and craigs list? Guest Conway Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I have seen a definitive increase in the number of working boys here in Chicago over the past 90-120 days. Let's be honest, Chicago is a pretty crappy escort town. But the arrival of types like the short lived River (who probably is now kept by some well to do daddy), is highly unusual in this market. I have seen nice looking twinky athletic types on all of the different escort venues. So, I think that the answer is ...absolutely. Quote
Members biznesman Posted December 28, 2008 Members Posted December 28, 2008 It would certainly seem that the economic times will result in an increase in working boys, but those same economics are also impacting the level of available customers. It will likely be that many of these boys will find out they are not going to be able to get rich quick so probably drop out of the business as quickly as the came in. Regardless, it will be nice to see some new talent around. Another side benefit of the current economy is that some "retired" favorites are rejoining the work force! Quote

I'm with what he said. its population dynamics LOL. But, its not always the case. I have a friend back home in Miami (which was hit hard) who was out of work for months, only having gigs here and there. He knew I was an escort and asked me to 'hook him up'. and so I refered him to rentboy, showed him my ad and even offered to put him on the site to help him out cuz he was doing bad. But he just couldnt do it. Everytime he kept doubting his looks compared to the others, and he couldnt imagine sleeping with someone he wasnt attracted to. So I told him, "its not for you". which is true, it isnt for everyone. Anybody can place an ad, but there's more involved than that. Eventually my friend found a new job, and never ended up escorting. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 There will be more boys, but only if the potential clients keep their jobs and can afford them. Quote
