Adam, that's depressing. I'm all for antidotes to the grimness of forced seasonal cheerfulness, but you could have gone a little easier on the despair.

Unquestionably so, but forgivable when considering that those lyrics were written to be delivered by an enchanting little girl with the objective of perking up the spirits of a nation laid low by the Great Depression. To believe the lore, it worked. We may soon need somebody able to do the same favor for us.
