Guest StuCotts Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Adam, that's depressing. I'm all for antidotes to the grimness of forced seasonal cheerfulness, but you could have gone a little easier on the despair. My antidote to the antidote is the gem below, plucked from the diadem of the last century's unrivaled goddess of uplift. Be optimistic! Don't you be a grumpy. When the road gets bumpy, Smile, smile and be happy. Quote
AdamSmith Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Oof! Almost too much sunshine to bear. Maybe a middle way can be found in my agèd Mama's treasured library of the timeless wisdom of Helen Steiner Rice. Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Oof! Almost too much sunshine to bear Unquestionably so, but forgivable when considering that those lyrics were written to be delivered by an enchanting little girl with the objective of perking up the spirits of a nation laid low by the Great Depression. To believe the lore, it worked. We may soon need somebody able to do the same favor for us. Quote
AdamSmith Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 We may soon need somebody able to do the same favor for us. Unquestionably in turn. And one who (in Obama's commendable spirit of appointing prodigies and geniuses) can likewise go on to a successful ambassadorial career. Meanwhile, for the near term, I will take your cue and boost my spirits by hopping aboard The Good Ship Lollipop. That is to say, just scheduled an overnight with Andre in a couple of days! http://andrehasablog.blogspot.com/ Quote
