Members eeyore Posted October 9, 2008 Members Posted October 9, 2008 1$ USD = 1.1231 CAD (Nightly Business Report 10/8/08). Now that should be worth at least one hot diggidy! Quote
TotallyOz Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Right now the dollar is also up against the Brazilian Real. For those of you waiting for a trip, it is a good time right now. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I've been dancing in the street lately. I get paid in dollars and pay my bills in euros. Two months ago one euro = $1.61 The other day it was $1.35. Which means my rent went down $180! Quote

Guest Anton Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I've been dancing in the street lately.I get paid in dollars and pay my bills in euros. Two months ago one euro = $1.61 The other day it was $1.35. Which means my rent went down $180! LOL, I've been dancing as well. When I was in the US this summer, I took $5.000 out of the ATM's at at rate of $1.58 for €1. By then the dollar was already getting stronger. So I paid €3 164.56 for it, while now it's worth €3 703.70 , a difference of €539.14 That difference is $727.84 at today's rate. Btw, it was really fun doing it. The first thing you do is check which ATM gives you the highest amount in one withdrawal (turned out to be 5th 3rd; $800 per withdrawal). Then you try to take out that amount each day. LOL when I went inside and explained what I was doing they instantly asked me if I wanted to open a savings-account there. I instantly told them that I didn't have a SSN, but that didn't seem to be a problem. Nope, I didn't tell them that I'm a wh**re. Another funny thing is the time-difference. If I took out the maximum amount in the morning or the evening, I could do that again in the evening, because 6pm in the US is midnight in the continent of Europe. Happy withdrawing everybody!! Guest Conway Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I just returned from a ten day trip to Mexico. While I was there, the USD went from 10.9 pesos to 13.8 pesos- a 26% increase in only ten days. Quote
Guest ScottAdler Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Just got home from Mexico yesterday. On Sunday it was allegedly 11 pesos to the dollar. All I know is that I got a great buy on an authentic Burberry Siesta Blanket to cuddle with Jasper under during this cool autumn ... ah shit it's boiling here in DC. Fuck the blanket, we're sleeping naked tonight. Quote
