Members TownsendPLocke Posted January 22, 2008 Members Posted January 22, 2008 A young man with so much promise.Who had already accomplished so very much in his young life. This saddens me more than I can comprehend. Another bright light,a true actor, has been extinguished. RIP Quote

Wow. I always thought Heath was an amazing actor and a beautiful man. My heart goes out to his daughter who sadly has to grow up without her daddy. It's a shame that he passes as he was poised for superstardom with his role as the Joker in the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight. What a swan song though. Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I always found his performances insightful and affecting. Not unexpectedly, he floored me in Brokeback Mountain. When he delivered his last line -- the "I swear" one -- my composure went. I still can't think of it without feeling something. On top of all that, the local scuttlebutt has it that he was a sweet and unassuming guy, much attached to his baby girl. Quote
Guest AntonNedvedev Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I admit it, I cried when I found out. Aside from the obvious good looks, he was a true talent. He turned down many high profile roles to focus on roles that appealed to him and challenged him as an actor. An actor with integrity among a host of plastic clones. I guess it really is true, only the good die young. He will be missed. Quote
Guest SmallTownJohn1 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I only knew Heath Ledger from BB Mtn. My partner is taking his passing really hard. It's so weird since he snuck out to see Cloverfield on his own this past weekend & came back to tell me he thought the theater posters for the Dark Knight were really cool and that The Joker(not Batman) was featured on those posters. I remember when they announced Heath would be playing The Joker awhile back, he exclaimed, "Perfect choice...it's gonna kick ass!" I heard the Phelps family are delighted...assholes!! John SmallTownJohn1/Atlanta The disgusting Phelps family and their "Church" are loving this. All they have to do is announce that they are going to picket his funeral/memorial and they get tons of media. It's hard to do but we all must just ignore these hateful idiots. Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Whatever ceremony there is, a shitload* of Phelpses will undoubtedly attend it. I'm amazed that they don't get more credit for being the best and most visible examples of the evils of inbreeding. I should think the genetic researchers would be all over them. *I'd like to suggest this as a specific collective noun to designate the Phelpses. Other examples: a drift of swine, a drove of donkeys.
