Members KYTOP Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Lucky Horseshoe is the stripper bar in Chicago. It can be real hit or miss and sometime the guys look like streetboys. But I have found a few gems there. Gentry's use to be a good piano bar. They have a bar downtown and in boystown. Try this link for more Chicago info. http://www.guidemag.com/travel/invoketrave...C4483955F0B2C6E I'll be in Chicago the first weekend of October. Quote
Guest Conway Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I agree with KY. The Horseshoe has been more hit than miss for the past few years. But, I have hired some nice boys from there over time. Some nights you'll find a gem in there. Other nights, you'll be inclined to cringe at the talent. Cocktail in Boystown has go go boys most nights. It's a pretty good crowd, diverse in a lot of ways (especially age and race) and pretty much no attitude. Minibar is nice, has a bunch of beautiful bartenders (that are pretty much all straight) and a somewhat clique-ish younger crowd. It can be fun if you're willing to invest the effort in talking to a total stranger. The bar has two rooms. Minibar which is younger and Winebar which is more mature and a little friendlier. Sidetrack is full of a younger, prettier crowd. I've always found it to be quite friendly. I'm not a piano bar fan. But, if I was, Gentry would be the place to land Quote
Guest PWIT Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Weeknights, be prepared for only one dancer at a time and there may only be 3 total dancers for the night. Dancers dance in rotation and change every 20 minutes. Weekend nights there was only 2 dancing at a time (separate dance areas) with at least 6 (but often more) dancing for the night in rotation. Agree with KY and Conway - hit or miss is right...but some of the hits were well worth it. Some made it known (some in obscure language) that they would be willing to entertain privately. I didn't partake, so can not offer any recommendations. Have met a few fellow patrons at the bar who were also in town visiting - led to some fun times. Hope you enjoy your visit. Quote
