Members marcanthony Posted August 1, 2007 Members Share Posted August 1, 2007 Like any other community, you will meet some guys that you really click with, and others who mix like oil and vinegar. I have had both types of experiences with guys who I have interacted with on these (and the old Hooboy) message board... but I wouldn't trade them for the world. Because when they hit... they really hit! I have become very good friends with two of the admins on this board... Totally Oz and Tampa Yankee. And I consider myself fortunate to have their friendship and the wonderful memories of times we have spent together. But I am writing this today because I spent a FANTASTIC day with Cooper. Cooper (best known for his reporting on the old Gaiety and more recently Club 20 in NY and the Montreal club scene) is a guy I was fortunate to meet a couple of years ago and keep in touch with him. We have had fun times in clubs both in NY and Montreal. Today I was in the Apple with 3 boys from Quebec who I had brought to see Broadway... and Cooper opened up his home to us for the entire day for fun, food, drink, and entertainment. No one could have found a more gracious host. Yes sometimes the boards are not thrilling. Sometimes they are full of shit. Sometimes you meet guys who you wish you had never heard of. But when you find someone of like mind and like interest, who cherishes a friendship as much as you do... that experience becomes irreplacable. All my contact with TY and Oz has been via computer, and always pleasant. TY's good nature is the one I've imposed on most. He has the patience of Job. No one could have found a more gracious host. I agree, my lasting impression of Cooper from our one-time dinner gathering in New York is summed up by the word 'gracious'. TotallyOz Posted August 1, 2007 Share Posted August 1, 2007 I have met some amazing people off this board and Hoo's board. I still remember my first holiday with Hooboy in Brazil. It was quite an entertaining few weeks. It seems to me that he has us on Video Cam with a few other members at one point in time and my BF at the time was showing off for the camera. When in NYC, I met some great guys from the boards including Marc, TY, Firecat, Luibit and others. It seems that the more places I go, the more I meet. I was in my little hometown a few weeks back and was talking to this married man who is a sweetheart but plays for the gays when he is away from town. He was talking about the Gaiety and he mentioned the reports from the old days when they had them each week. I never told him I knew quite a bit about those reports from NYObserver and others but I had to smile inside that even in small places, the boards still carry on. Though I have not had the pleasure of meeting marcanthony, TampaYankee, TotallyOz and many others I have had the pleasure of getting to know some really fantastic guy who post here. I have been a guest in Oliver’s vacation home in Palm Springs and he has been a guest in mine in Orange County. I have shared a couple of extremely enjoyable dinners in both L.A. and Palm Springs with Lucky. Additionally the only thing more enjoyable than reading posts by KYTOP is sitting around a pool with drink in hand listening to him recount his many adventures. To the many others I have met and neglected to mention by name I sincerely apologize This site and the old Hooboy site have opened a whole new world for me of wonderful, interesting people with whom I share many interests besides the obvious. The fact that we all share an "intimate" interest in escorts allows for discussions of that interest simply not possible in the rest of my world. I remember the first 2 were Jackhammer and deej from Hooboy site during my first trip to California a few years ago. Jackhammer and I still manage to cross paths each year. Then there was the Montreal Group that Marc intoduced me to at Taboo one night,,,, great memories. Then it seemed we would meet there as a group a couple times a year for awhile. Still remember the night I got introduced to Bobby Thompson and Ryan while there. And meeting Tampa and Oz and Oz pointing to me that he knew me (but we had never met). Seems I had used the Escort Agency he use to own, hehe I've met guys from LA to NYC from Thailand to Brazil from Chicago to Salt Lake City and points in between. And as much as people use to accuse the message center of being no more than a bunch of "old Queens" I've yet to meet an old queen in the bunch yet. Just a great group of guys with alot in common. I've yet to meet Berry (we keep missing each other while I am in Chicago) but I have exchanged emails and talk to him on the phone. I have also met many posters...I would guess as many as 40 of them over the years. There are so many good guys and just a few flakes...and yes, a couple of real phonies! But it's the real world!
