Guest StuCotts Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 It's set in the Madison Ave. world of advertising some time around 1960. The period references are lots of fun. Beyond that, a peculiar show. I've seen only two episodes, but from what I can tell there are no heroes. All the men, at least so far, are contemptible to a greater or lesser degree. The signals all point to one of them eventually coming out of the closet, to us if not to his work mates. That would be a concession to modern requirements. Another is the on-screen (hetero) sex, which amounts to boiler plate. The women are depicted as more complicated than the men, but not much. I'll stick with it until it's clear whether my interest is growing or waning. Quote
