Members lookin Posted July 7, 2007 Members Posted July 7, 2007 Just bumping around learning the new Forum software, and discovered that I am a mere “member†and not an “advanced memberâ€, like many of my heroes on this Board. With my sixty-fourth birthday just a few months away, my member is feeling more advanced than ever before, so it seems an odd turn of events. So does anyone know what kinds of members we have here, and how high one can aspire? I would love one day to rise to the level of “esteemed member†or, dare I hope, “turgid memberâ€. Can anyone toss me a bone? Quote

Actually, it is just the number of posts that one has made on the site. We set this up in the admin and it is currently set to the defaults. I suggest that we make some changes and have 5 different levels. 1. New to 99 posts 2. 99-250 posts 3. 251-500 posts 4. 501-750 posts 5. Over 751 posts Now what do we call each category? Any suggestions? Quote
Members OneFinger Posted July 8, 2007 Members Posted July 8, 2007 Here's my suggestion: 1. New to 99 posts - Curious (But Not Sure) 2. 99-250 posts - Sure and Confident 3. 251-500 posts - Been Around the Block 4. 501-750 posts - Compulsive 5. Over 751 posts - Needs a Life Quote

Turgid is highly thinkable! http://home.att.net/~bob.wallace/dubya-strangelove.html P.S. Compulsively I embrace the wisdom in Onefinger's post. Quote
Members lookin Posted July 9, 2007 Author Members Posted July 9, 2007 Turgid is unthinkable. Actually, developing into a Turgid Member would cover most of the bases for me. tur·gid (tûr'jÄd) adj. 1 Excessively ornate or complex in style or language; grandiloquent 2 Swollen or distended, as from a fluid; bloated I’d think of it as my life-work here. Of course, as you suggest, being sparklingly turgid would open up yet another dimension: Thanks for the advice everyone! It seems the best course of action will be to hew closely to the wisdom of OneFinger, one tentative post at a time, sparkling when I’m able, florid when I’m not, and tumescent as the opportunity arises. One down . . . Quote

I do like the first 3. The last two are too much a representative of my own life and would hate to see that in print. How about. 1. Curious Poster 2. Experimenting 3. Out of the Closet 4. Been Around the Block 5. Escort Connoisseur Also still open to suggestions. Quote
Guest Luke Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 This being my 2nd post, which from my calculation will place me in the category of a “Curious Poster†or a “Curious (But Not Sure)†kind of posting guy, I guess? Let me think here!!! I am a “curious posterâ€. I am “sure†of most things in life. I hope to always have the courage to be “experimentingâ€. I am “sure and confidentâ€. I have “been around the block†on a few glories walks. I am “out of the Closetâ€. I can be “compulsive†however, appreciate it for what it is. Everyone “Needs a life†I have at least one, and it is happy, exciting and fulfilling. As far as being an “Escort Connoisseurâ€, please oh please may the powers that be evoke the supremacy to bestow upon me to be the best Escort Connoisseur that they see appropriate. I gotta get posting more to achieve this goal! You guys are a hoot – Thanks for an out of the ordinary read. Luke Quote

Members lookin Posted August 31, 2007 Author Members Posted August 31, 2007 I don't know anybody interesting who doesn't have 3 or 4 serious obsessions. I don't know if this is a serious obsession, or just a casual one, but I think it would be nice to celebrate our most steadfast contributors with fitting honorifics. I recently was graduated from a plain old "Member" to an "Advanced Member", and don't think the champagne didn't flow! It took 30 posts to get there and now all I can think of is what's the next mountain to climb, and what lies at the summit? I guess I've been talked out of "Turgid Member", but what about "Tumescent Member"? Or, dare I dream, "Prodigious Member"? OK, I'll say it, here's what would launch a plethora of posts from yours truly, and settle the question of obsession once and for all: 1. New to 99 posts - Dangling Member 2. 99-250 posts - Aroused Member 3. 251-500 posts - Tumescent Member 4. 501-750 posts - Esteemed Member 5. Over 751 posts - Prodigious Member Quote

Is Consummate too obvious? How about Masterful? Virtuoso? I must be overheated from looking at that ad. Get me one of those props and call me any kind of member you want. Quote

What honorific do you think would best bridge the gap between Tumescent Member and Prodigious Member? I think I recall Andre passing through that state briefly, but words failed me at the time. Quote

I notice that you are yourself just one post away from "Tumescent Member". Any plans for celebrating? If you were with TotallyOz in Rio right now, you could celebrate with the young man in the photo. According to the "Top Boys Rio" website, his name is Kaique, and he also does a very nice "Prodigious Member". Wish it were mine. Quote
