Members marcanthony Posted May 16, 2007 Members Posted May 16, 2007 We have been having this discussion in the very bottom forum about suggestions and problems, but the problem is so widespread, I thought I would post this here too. Tampa Yankee suggested that the problem withnot being able to post under one's own registered name could be a bad cookie problem. I was not willing to delete my cookies to find out, thus erasing all my passwords, usernames, etc. Lookin was kind enough to point out that all the browsers have different ways that you can delete specific cookies to a particular site. I deleted the MER cookies and the problem was solved. For specific instructions for Internet Explorer or Mac Safari, see the instructions in that forum from Lookin and from me. Quote

Members KYTOP Posted May 16, 2007 Members Posted May 16, 2007 I found out if I login on the Home page I can post under my Registered name. If I login in the Forum section I must put in my name. Quote
Guest Rayban Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 For Firefox 2.0 users, (or at least this one) there seems to be no fix. MER places 4 cookies on your browser every time you visit the site. They are by cookie name: dcpc site_dccookie PHPSESSID site_dccookie If you delete them then restart your browser, they simply return when you return to the site. If you block the site from placing cookies on your browser, you cannot log in. When have cookies become such dreaded things? Aren't they supposed to be enjoyed at 3am with a tall glass of cold milk?:7 Quote
