Guest epigonos Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 What is happening? When I visit this site I see no new since that of Dilen/Munich several days ago. The Top 10 Profiles, however, have been updated each day. Have no new reviews been submitted or posted or has the server move caused new reviews to be delayed? Just curious!!!!! Quote
Members Lucky Posted April 25, 2007 Members Posted April 25, 2007 Sorry, Epigonos. It's my fault. Ever since I introduced Oz to the Aneros Helix he hasn't been able to concentrate on the site, Yes, I know he wants you to think it is because the servers are being changed, but that's just for public consumption. Next I hear he and TY are going to get a double Helix so they can squirm together! Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted April 25, 2007 Members Posted April 25, 2007 Sites like this are always driven by contributors. When contributions fall off so do postings. For the record, the last review in the queue was declined for questionable origin. I'd rather post no review rather than one strongly suspected of being bogus. It seems that fewer clients are moved to post reviews today than they were in the past. Legitmate newbies have always been reluctant to submit that first review. However, I often see postings by long-time experienced reviewers who admit they saw an escort but didn't write a review. Is it possible that legitmate review sites are filling more of a voyeur function and less of an information exchange function these days? Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Tax season came, and clients who might have hired didn't because the government took all their fucking money. Quote
Guest comment Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 >Is it possible that legitmate review sites are filling more of >a voyeur function and less of an information exchange function >these days? > I believe this to be a large reason for less reviews. I feel another reason is as escort fees increasingly become unrealistic, regardless of market, clients simply are not hiring as often as they once were. I do applaud you for not posting a bogus review just for the sake of putting a "new" review up. Quote
Guest eastburbguy Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Whether it's tax season, fewer motivated Reviewers, or just some inexplicable temporary lapse, allow me to make three comments: (1) this site is new, as compared to the Brand X site, and as such will take some time to build to the (previous) daily volume of Brand X; (2) Brand X itself has been posting only a few new Reviews daily for well over six months or more; and (3) this site prides itself on only posting Reviews which contain "substantive" info (my words), i.e., references to "what happened between us will stay between us" garbage isn't tolerated here, whereas Brand X seems to have no such filters. This site is new and I'll stay with it because I think its long range plans are admirable. Plus, that Turrets Syndrome nimrod, JT Brooklyn, whose apostrophe key is ALWAYS stuck on "ON,", doesn't post here. That, in and of itself makes this site worthwhile. }( Quote
Guest deej Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I just assumed KY_TOP and SilverDollar took a week off at the same time. It's a "perfect storm" situation. ;-) Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted April 26, 2007 Members Posted April 26, 2007 Good point about the higher fee impact on hiring. I'm sure there is some impact. Also thanks for sharing our view about posting substantive content reviews. One of my peeves in the past was waiting to open a review which then said nothing. Another was finding the review to be a couple of years old only after I opened it. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted April 26, 2007 Members Posted April 26, 2007 Very good point about taxes. Tax day always offeres a deturrent to disposable income activites. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted April 26, 2007 Members Posted April 26, 2007 Not to worry, we are not going anywhere. Just changing servers. Once we get these moves behind us we continue moving ahead and implementing new things. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted April 26, 2007 Members Posted April 26, 2007 Silver Dollar and KYTOP are strong contributors along with StuCotts. They and several other repeat contributorsare all greatly appreciated as are first timers wishing to share relevant information with our members. Quote
Guest StuCotts Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 It's hard to tell, but my reference to fucking money was intended as humorous. (Fucking money = money spent on fucking.) Flop, huh? Cue the laugh track. Setting that aside, I think comment's point about unrealistic escort fees as a factor in the shortage of reviews is well taken. I would like to add terminally bland escorts as another factor. It is frustrating to write up an encounter as honestly as possible and end up with the equivalent of a blank page. It happened to me last week, and I just gave up. More about money, I recently read an escort ad that frankly justified the high fee by saying the guy is uninterested in doing a volume business. Quote

Guest Adam Smith Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 >I would like to add terminally bland escorts as >another factor. No question. In addition, could it be we're simply in a random-wave period of relatively few extremely appealing escorts on the scene? My schtick is twinks and stud muffins, and the Northeast Corridor at least is suffering the worst drought of such since I started hiring a half-decade ago. Quote
