TotallyOz Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Apple just recently shipped its 100,000,000th Ipod. It seems like just yesterday that I got my first one and then a Nano and then a Video IPod. It seems that I have bought my fair share of the 100,000,000 but I am glad I did. I don't know what I would do if I had to travel overseas without one. I have been on planes where I did not see anyone sitting in my section that did not have on an IPod. Pretty amazing in just 5 years! http://news.com.com/2100-1041_3-6174435.ht...3-0-5&subj=news Quote
Guest PWIT Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 It may not be politically correct to have so many apples in your basket: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/04/...in2647295.shtml Quote
Guest euroskater21 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I'm absolutely delighted with my Microsoft Zune, particularly the video feed and radio feature. It's received a considerable amount of media flak since launch however I fail to understand the criticism. A mate who is an Ipod fan borrowed my Zune for an evening and was very impressed, considered it of higher quality to his Ipod. Quote
TotallyOz Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 To be honest, I have not played with a Zume. I have despised Microsoft since their software crashed my computer 20 times. Since that has been a few years, I guess I need to get over it. A few years back a very wise escort and friend advised me to try Apple. I did and have been stuck ever since. No lost data. No breakdowns. Nothing. Nada. Perhaps I am lucky. I'm not sure. But, I'll take a look at the Zume the next time I am at BestBuy. Quote

You'll be better off down the road Apple does have amazing products and you were proven right to buy them , as you are totally satisfied with them. I did not try the " Zune " thing and probably will not unless a friend has one, but I am as well so thanksfull to have the video Ipod. The " Zune " thing might be great , I just hope it does not crash like a pc computer. I would hate to be in the middle of my favorite TV-show or movie and then the damn thing crashes. Members seaboy4hire Posted April 13, 2007 Members Posted April 13, 2007 What would I do without one? I'd be having major back issues without my ipod! Shortly before I broke down and bought and ipod because of my majorly eclectic taste in music I'd have a couple binders full of cd's. The breaking point for me on getting an ipod was when my left arm started to go numb from the cd's and just misc. crap I carry around with me. Now my load is a lot lighter and I can feel my left arm Thanks Mr. Jobs. Hugs, Greg Quote
TotallyOz Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 Luckily, you are too young to remember carrying 8 tracks around everywhere. Quote
Members seaboy4hire Posted April 14, 2007 Members Posted April 14, 2007 True but I do remember 8 tracks. My mom had a bf that had a Pinto (I never said I came from high class) that had an 8 track player. Does that count? Hugs, Greg Quote
Guest comment Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 >Luckily, you are too young to remember carrying 8 tracks >around everywhere. I can recall the days of 8 track tapes. Who can forget that beautiful loud clunk-like clicking sound when it would change tracks, especially mid-song. I use a Samsung MP3 player. It's much smaller than most IPods and at 2gig holds enough music to keep me entertained on long plane flights. I have little interest in watching video on the small IPod screen therefore I had little interest in purchasing an IPod. Also I use Rhapsody music service. For $15. per month I can download as much music to my MP3 player as I want. No .99 per song no wasting time looking for free downloads some that turn into poor quality sound. The Rhapsody service is worth every penny. Quote

Does that count? A Pinto was the car I learned to drive on and brings back many fond memories. So, yes, it counts. I do remember trying to park it in the middle of an open field, under moonlight and making out with my first girlfriend. The curves on the hood and the light weight made it impossible to get a homerun. Or, perhaps it was just I was meant to ask her brother out instead of her. Quote
TotallyOz Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 I will have to admit when I read your post I thought 15 a month. Holy Shit. That is a lot. I logged into my Itunes account and I have downloaded over 6000 songs and over 500 TV shows. I guess 15 a month isn't so bad now. Quote
Guest Stephan Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 And I thought I was bad. I got hooked on this Itunes because of you lol I guess I should only blame myself Stef http://www.steflacoste.com +33 870 449 763 ~ France +1 310 933 6213 ~ Usa:P Quote
Guest comment Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Just as I'm writing glowing remarks on the Samsung Mp3 player mine breaks I cannot get it to start up. It locks about halfway through the process. I just purchased a Sansa 4g MP3 player that works seamlessly with Rhapsody. I'll be using it for the first time this evening. Totally Oz personally I rather own nothing and have everything for $15. per month. It's so nice to be able to listen to what I want when I want without all the per song or album charges. However, I understand some people still enjoy collecting music. Quote
