Guest Riptide Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Say what you will about the British forces supporting us in a time of war, but also, don’t forget to call them what they are: cowards and a disgrace to all who wear the military uniform, all around the world. The public interviews these soldiers are giving as to “what happened in International waters, off Iran” are enough to make one sick. My grandmother’s French poodle would have stepped up and presented more resistance to the Iranians than these British soldiers did. “We didn’t fight back because we didn’t want to start an international incident.” “We didn’t fight back because we were out numbered.” “We didn’t fight back because the Iranians were serious about taking us hostage.” The pathetic and disgraceful excuses for their behaviors continued once they were taken prisoner and held at a secure location. “We said what we said on tape while in their custody because we were fearful and uncomfortable about what they might do to us.” “They isolated us in separate cells and made us believe other’s had already talked.” “They played with our heads making us believe we were in real danger.” And the excuses go on and on and on….. These British men and one woman soldiers repulse me beyond words. For all who have sacrificed the ultimate in this war, to roll over and cry for mommy the way they did is inexcusable and shameful beyond shame. And now, The British Government has made an exception to their long standing military law, just for them. They can sell their stories to the media for their own personal profit and gain. The British people have been betrayed and humiliated by their very own military. If it had been our men and women in this situation, instead of book deals, they would have received flag draped coffins and a military escort home. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1626726.ece Quote
TotallyOz Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 In a reversal of its decision, they are now saying the soldiers cannot sell their story. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/09/world/eu...=rssnyt&emc=rss Quote

Shouldn't there be an emergency Bush blood test and vacccine ready at a moments notice to prevent the spread of this potential deadly condition? Quote
caeron Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 They're really young, thrust into a situation which I doubt they were trained or prepared for. Yes, it was stupid of them to feed the Iranian propaganda machine. But cut them some slack for being young and unsure of how to handle the situation. Iran isn't at war with Britain. Quote
